2006 Ka-Bar 1464 Impact Series (NIB)

Hi guys,

I’m now in my 70s and have started to liquidate my lifetime collection of guns, just so my wife doesn’t sell them for what I told her they cost in case I should pass.

In doing so, I rediscovered a brand new Ka-Bar 1464 Impact Series Combat Knife in the back of my vault that I was given as a gift back in/around 2006.

I was told by a Special Forces acquaintance that this knife was discontinued and might be of some value as a collector piece.

Can anyone tell me anything about this knife and what kind of value I should attach to it? I found one post about the same knife being sold in 2015 for $245 without the box or original paperwork, but that was ten years ago.

The 1464 came out in 2002 and was discontinued in 2009. The other Impacts, 1460, 1461, 1462, and 1463 were introduced in 2001. 1461 and 1463 discontinued in 2010. 1460 and 1462 were discontinued in 2008. Very good knives, way ahead of their time.

They rarely show up on fleabay even though they had 7 year marketing run. There are currently 3 or 4 1461s on fleabay running around $110 to $140, and not moving.

The original retail price of the 1464 was $118.36 A used 1464 sold on fleabay for $90 with free shipping in early May and a NIB sold in Mar for $275 with free shipping.

As a comparison, the 1461 retail price was $114.62. I bought 3 for $60 or less each in 2015.
