Just now picked up this Victorinox Fieldmaster on my break at the local antique store for 20 bucks. Going to carry it around today.

Looks like the model that my Dad carried for many years. He loved having that toothpick.woodwalker wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 3:39 pm Just now posted up this Victorinox Fieldmaster on my break at the local antique store for 20 bucks. Going to carry it around today.![]()

Thanks. I bet your dad got good use out of his. I've carried some sort of Swiss Army Knife since the early 80"s.PringleTree wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 4:20 pmLooks like the model that my Dad carried for many years. Grabbed this old Schrade Craftsman today at an antique store. It was pretty dirty and missing the shield. So, i did a bit of cleanup, and put a piece of brass in place of the old Craftsman shield. It's basically an Old Timer 8OT with different color handles and shield. I think it will make a great EDC.

Your knife doesn't look real, to me, John, it appears almost cartoonish, is it suppose to look like that? Thx!1967redrider wrote: ↑Sun Jun 15, 2025 5:09 pm Totin' a knife just like my dad never EDCed. Happy Father's Day!

Yes, he did. Great dedication on your part to a pattern/maker you're obviously comfortable with. In 1977, I bought a red alox Vic Pioneer in a knife store in a mall in Albuquerque. Carried it faithfully until I decided to retire it last year.woodwalker wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 5:07 pmThanks. I bet your dad got good use out of his. Yes, grew up a Redbird fan, but the Tigers have been my A.L. team since I lived there in the 70's, went thru a lot of lean years with that team. The new hat was a Fathers Day gift from one of my sons.woodwalker wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 11:15 pmNice knife Ike! I figured you were a Cardinals fan though?![]()
