D.L. ::hmm:: .... That is a great find you got there! ::handshake:: Nice work👍👍. I always say the TL29 is one of the most practical and affordable (generally speaking) EDCs out there. And don't forget... ::paranoid:: if you forget* how to unlock the wire-striping blade when it is open ::shrug:: just look on the blade..... ::hmm::

*You know as people get older (like you ::skeptic:: ) they get forgetful sometimes ::skeptic:: ... And speaking of getting older: Happy Birthday!✨🧨✨🎉🎈🎁

Thanks for the compliments on the TL29 and thanks for the advice about reading instructions. You know as we get older.......what were we talking about?

So, i did a bit of cleanup, and put a piece of brass in place of the old Craftsman shield. It's basically an Old Timer 8OT with different color handles and shield. I think it will make a great EDC.
Nice work TMK!!! ::tu:: ::tu::

I was hooked on Schrade Walden knives when I was gainfully employed by the school district. I shyed away from the same pattern with the Old Timer shield for some reason. Same knives, sorta like old Chevy and GMC trucks, almost identical except for the emblems back in the day. Come to think of it, the FRM store only sold Schrade Walden knives back then. That's how I strayed away from Case. :oops: Now I carry mostly Queens as work knives. ::shrug::
Nowadays when I see a "good" price on an Old Timer I usually find it to be China made. Last week this one was in the shallow end of the bay. It has a few tiny hints/specks of rust on the factory edges but has the USA stamp!

Got a few imperfections but having never been sharpened it was worth $12+ shipping.

Nice pick up Phillip!! Back in the day I carried a Uncle Henry and shyed away from the Old Timers. The Uncle Henry's were just cooler looking to my 20 year old mind. Today I prefer the Old Timers (USA). That steel seems better to me for some reason. There easy to sharpen and take a wicked edge. Congratts on your find! :D

Those 2 look great together, Rick, and I've had my sheepsfoot model for a couple of years, but after seeing the spearpoint model I might just have to secure one of those for myself. I like how solid these knives feel in-hand, they feel well-made.

2 hawkbills, a Kutmaster and a no name/stamp.
They came together, I was surprised at the big difference in the 2 knives. The no name is hands down a better knife in my eyes. Outstanding walk and talk, thicker/heavier blade and spring. Seems like a lot of folks try to improve the knives they market by attempting to "clean" them. ::td::
Who do y'all think made this one?
Easy to see the differences:

Wow, Philip, that "No Name" hawk is built like a tank. I haven't clue who made it, but that is one seriously heavy duty knife :shock:
