Good Mornin', Diners.
Draggin' around this morning for some reason. ::shrug:: Bright and sunny, 73° heading for the low 90s for the next few days. Yard grass is still growing, seems like cutting once a week is normal any more.
Dave, Folks are still praying for Miss Jane.
Looks like a trip into town is on the agenda for today, canned dog food for the toothless mini-dachsund and a sack of bird feed among other things.
Have a good day, knifers!

Good Morning.

A young neighbor (38?) replaced all the brake pads on my sister's car and also fixed a brake light issue on mine. He is quite skilled in many areas. I much rather pay him for the work than the sometimes questionable mechanics in town. And with 3 kids he can use some extra money.

Good Mornin', Folks!
73°, just light enough to see outside and there is a silhouette of a deer under the sand pear tree along with a couple of othere smaller silhouettes that are probably raccoons.
A clear hot day is in the forecast, 90s again, then tomorrow the weather folks are calling for some rain. Starting to get dry again.
Never made it to town yesterday, just mowed all morning. Pretty sure we'll be going this morning after I get back from men's prayer. Y'all remember "Mother Hubbards cupboard"?
Have a wonderful day. ::tu::

Good morning. We've got a gorgeous morning up here and the weather has been awesome the past few days. We have had some heat but not enough to make things miserable, and the nights have been cool so we can cool the house down at night and close it up during the heat of the day on the few days it was a little to warm outside. Every thing was OK with Jane's pre-op yesterday so she is all set for Monday. Have a good Tuesday.____Dave

Morning folks, 72 the low heading to the mid 90's, to hot for trot. The old mother Hubbard rhyme l remember ain't fit for the FCD so I'll leave that be.
Wampus wuz here in all his glory, ate like he hadn't seen food for a month of Sundays.
Not much going on in this heat, trying to keep all this stuff the boss wanted planted alive. Whew dragging that old water hose is more work than I want.
Dermatologist appointment this afternoon, that's about the highlight of my day.

Good morning. Yeah JP, I was wondering where that picture was taken. I guess I don't know as much about Wisconsin as I thought I did. Yesterday got a little warm but not anything like the rest of the country is getting. I think rain is coming in tonight but it appears most is staying south of us. For us being still short on rain, everything sure is lush green and the under brush only allows visibility to a few hundred feet in most places off the roads or fields. One fairly large dead birch branch fell next to the house some time yesterday that we'll have to haul away and cut up. I didn't know the stand of birches next to the house even had some dead branches on them, and this one was 6 or 7 inches place it broke off at. I'm off to feed the chickens and figure out where to work today. Have a great Wednesday.____Dave

Good Mornin', Folks. ::handshake::
We recorded 93° yesterday, starting at 75° with clear skies.
I wish I had taken a screenshot of yesterday's weather forecast for today. Yesterday, today's weather was to be rainy, big time. This morning, today's forecast is nothing like what they forecasted. ::shrug:: One of my pet peeves if y'all hadn't noticed! No offense to you Northern brothers but there used to be an old sayin' when I was a little feller, "Only fools and Yankees try to predict Florida weather"! Big weather events such as hurricanes or winter cold fronts are usually quite accurately forecasted and appreciated. Like we've said before, we'll know for sure tomorrow what happened today. ::nod::
More mowing today after we get another can of gas at the farm store. Need to freshen up our game cameras sometime today. Bible study this evening at 6:30.
Y'all enjoy the day.

Morning folks, 72 heading to the mid 90's pop ups are possible. We drove through the edge of a nice shower yestiddy coming home from the VA.
Kinda late to the table again today, trying to get as much done as we can before the heat get unbearable. Fixed a big Joe scramble for breakfast this morning sure was good for a change.

Wampus was laying on his throne ready for breakfast, this heat has him off his feed seems like, even the hummers have slowed down.
Got my hay crop cut and rolled over the last couple of days, sure looks nice and the smell is nice when fresh cut.

JP and Dave, that picture was taken from the Soo Locks boat tour boat, inside a lock. I'm on vacation now with the family. We stayed 2 nights in Sault Ste Marie and we're now headed for Sleeping bear dunes on lake Michigan's east shore, staying in a town called Manistee. We'll spend 2 nights in a cabin on small Tainer lake then take the ferry across the lake, from Ludington Michigan to Manitowoc Wisconsin.

Good Mornin', Scott and others to stop by the diner.
Scott, hope you have a good trip going to see your mother.
70 degrees this morning. We got to 94 yesterday and about 5pm a big cloud out of the east came across and the wind brought 1.4" of rain in a short time. There was also a bit of hail preceding the rain. We have a big limb broken in a big Water Oak that is in the yard as a result. It is still attached, don't know if I can break it off with the tractor and a chain or will have to call a professional tree trimmer. It's a big limb and is about 25' up to it. ::shrug::
Workday again is not full speed, my helper has a doctor appointment today, Miss Joy's helper will be here and I think our school teacher daughter will be here to help with the outdoor plants.
Coffee is ready, y'all have a good Thursday, the last Thursday of June 2025. Half the year is almost gone!

Good morning. 55 degrees this AM with overcast skies. It rained much of yesterday and will be damp for several days so we are tackling an inside job that has been on a "whenever we can get around to it" situation for several months tiling a bathroom floor and walls. Yesterday I hauled feed down to my chicken barn, and noticed one of my young hens was missing. She was inside the barn with no way out and no sign of something getting in to catch her. There is stuff stored in that part of the barn so I figured she must have crawled in behind something and got stuck. It took my 15 minutes to find her. She had perched on the top rung of a ladder going up to a small hay mow next to a built in pen containing a bat bantam hen and her chicks where there was a little opening between studs, and somehow got in there and now was down in a little channel in the wall behind a large outboard motor stored in the barn. I called Jason to come and move the motor and he cut the plywood sheathing down far enough to reach her. I'm really glad I noticed one of my hens missing and took the time to find and rescue her. I filled the hole just in case she decided that was a fun adventure. Before I left, she flew up on a feed barrel and let me pet her. Then a little white hen who she hangs around with decided she wanted to be petted too. There are 9 hens in this group, and all like to be around me when I'm in the barn and don't mind being handled and pampered. They are old enough to be put in with the large old hens, but are so intimidated by them that I haven't had the heart to pit them through that yet. I gotta run. Have a good Thursday.____Dave

Mornin' Y'all

Another HOT day in store. Came a pretty heavy t-storm about 1am. More rain late this evening.

Wife is dragging her butt this morning. A few months back she won 2 tickets to see Def Leppard. Concert was
last night in B'ham's newest amphitheater venue. She took our friend Silke who's been battling cancer.
Other than hot and super humid, they really enjoyed themselves. Wife was impressed by the new venue.
I was going to change the oil in her car today, but she can't find the filter ....

Yawl stay safe and cool
Chris
i woke last night to the sound of thunder
how far off i sat and wondered
started humming a song from nineteen sixty two
aint it funny how the night moves

Morning folks, 72 heading to the mid 90's my little weather station sez 82 already at 7:22.
Wampus was on his throne, gave me the stink eye as I walked by.
Need to get the zt out and cut the grass soon as the dew drys off. Need to weedeat and spray roundup a bit too.
Saw yestiddy that a new study shows that milk is a fine liquid for hydrating, a word to the wise is sufficient, but I'll probably stick to water and sport drinks to replace electrolytes.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Everyday we get into the 90s.

It appears that our foxes and skunks have moved on with their lives. The few fledgling birds have disappeared as well.

Have to pick up some groceries today. Bev will be gone for 3 days this weekend.
