Re: June 2025 AAPK Monthly Knife Giveaway
If you are eligible to participate but haven’t done so, you have a tad more than 30 hours to enter this months GAW. PLEASE, if you’re not eligible, don’t enter, it doesn’t change the outcome and you just look foolish for not reading the rules.

Re: June 2025 AAPK Monthly Knife Giveaway
Congratulations to New_Windsor_NY whose pick of 666 was 3 less than the lottery number drawn last night of 669. Skip is both a prior winner and prior donor to the monthly knife giveaway which may have contributed to his good karma. A PM has been sent to claim the prize.
Thank you everyone who participated in this month's GAW which had 64 eligible participants. A very special shout-out to QTCut5 (Quintus) for his unselfish act of kindness and support of the Sorenson's family and his best friend Brian (Ivoryman). This was a very emotional month for many at AAPK and this is a very special tribute to a very special member. Thank you!

Re: June 2025 AAPK Monthly Knife Giveaway
From New_Windsor_NY (Skip) 3-munutes after the PM I sent him:

I'm going to honor the wishes of the winner and declare the prize claimed. The membership here at AAPK continues to amaze, we are all very blessedThis pocket knife means more to ~Q~ than it will ever mean to me. As far as I am concerned, the contest is over and the prize was issued. I therefore elect to let ~Q~ KEEP THE POCKET KNIFE. This is with the condition that he NEVER gives it away.
I have NO problem doing this.
Have a good day, Tom.
Stay safe,
Skip.

An outstanding gesture Skip. Your selfless generosity is on par with those you honor.

That is very thoughtful of you, Skip. I will honor your request to keep the GEC #34 and NEVER give it awayNew_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 3:45 pm This pocket knife means more to ~Q~ than it will ever mean to me. As far as I am concerned, the contest is over and the prize was issued.

All the unprecedented twists and turns in the June 2025 GAW certainly make it one for the record books. It should be noted that another AAPK member also generously offered to supply a substitute knife (the exact same GEC model as the one I chose, incidentally) for the drawing when he learned of Ivoryman's untimely passing. I think if it wasn't already clear, the events of this month's drawing unequivocally demonstrate that this contest is so much more than just a fun little game we play each month; it's an expression of the intangible spirit of cohesion and the love we share not only for knives, but for each other. I am humbled and grateful to be associated with this amazing and awesome assembly

I am humbled by the tremendous generosity of "Q" and Skip. You both have been blessed in heart, spirit and mind. There is a lesson to be learned in this June 2025 GAW thread on an individual level, and as such, we ALL have been blessed. Let not this be in vain.

Re: June 2025 AAPK Monthly Knife Giveaway
Awww, you guys are makin' me feel all warm and fuzzy (not normal Sasquach behavior).
I have found that the core of the knife collector world is a group of guys and gals who are honest, caring, and engaging people (not to mention a little crazy too). I've ran into a couple of bad eggs but they have been few and far between. The generosity and camaraderie far outshine those bad eggs. I've often thought that I couldn't have fallen in with a better bunch of people. However, don't forget that I'm a big cranky, hairy, old fart with a reclusive attitude....gotta' keep up appearances.
