The PET scan last week showed more lymph glands affected by the cancer so today the surgeon took biopsy's on both sides of her neck and took out the tumor from her tongue along with 1/4 of the tongue. It was a long 4 hour surgery and we were at the hospital from 9 this morning and I left around 6 when Jane finally got to her room. She was still under the effects from the surgery and barely awake so we left and let her sleep. The lymph nodes appear to be cancerous but we won't know for sure until sometime next week and the surgeon told us to expect radiation after she heals up some. He said everything around the nodes are clean and show no cancer and that it doesn't appear to have spread and that it should be very curable. He said the tumor removal went very well and after healing she should have full use of her tongue and mouth with no difference from before the surgery. We were hoping and praying that today would be the end of the medical procedures, and Chemo with the radiation isn't off the table quite yet, but he is thinking just radiation is the most likely all she will need. I'll head up there tomorrow and Jane should be able to come home Wednesday or Thursday. Thanks again for your prayers.____Dave

I already have another update since I posted a couple minutes ago. Jane just called me from the hospital. She is talking without much difficulty or pain and is feeling way better already. Tylenol appears to be enough to take the edge off the pain. Seeing her last night was rough and now today is looking much better already. The surgeon told her yesterday that he didn't operate on her legs so she needs to get up and moving right away.____Dave
