1930 no mint mark Wheat Penny

Always cool examples as keepsakes but don't get sucked into the LISTED prices you might see at auction, check the sold listings for more accurate range.
To be of significant value it would have to be a minted defect or in pristine condition.
As is, it's likely still under $1 but HEY its worth more than a penny !

antique coins are just another hobby of mine so this caught my eye, I do like the old wheat and Indian and steel pennies just because they hold memories collecting even as a kid. I have a huge jar I need to siphon through one of these days myself.

Maybe you could find a victim to give you a dollar for it. More like 10 to 15 cents.

I've got a sandwich ham container full of wheat (and older) pennies, foreign coins (some no longer used--like the French franc), and other odd/old stuff.

I don't think any of them are worth much, but it's a fun little collection that typically cost me nothing, really. 95% of it came in spare change, except for one Buffalo nickel, some Irish coins, and a steel 1943 penny.

When the U. S. mint discontinued the Wheat Penny for the Lincoln Memorial, my Dad had an idea.

Every Friday, he took his paycheck to the bank and cashed it in pennies.

He spent the weekend separating the Wheats. Then put the rest in rolls and took them back to the bank on Monday.

It was an endeavor of ever diminishing returns, as the Wheat Pennies gradually disappeared from circulation.

He put the coins in empty white plastic Clorox bottles that Mom saved for him and stored them behind the sofa in the living room.

He did find a very nice 1909 S VDB penny, which had some value.

Years later, the house next door was for sale. Mom and Dad bought it as a rental property and he gave the seller $10,000.00 in Wheat Pennies as a down payment.

I helped them load the Clorox bottles into the trunk and back seat of the car and when he drove away, that car was sitting really low.

BTW, never fill an old 5 gallon glass Sparkletts water bottle with pennies, ask me how I know.
