Spanish R. Zafrillia OTF switchblade.

Hello all.

I have an interesting switchblade that I’d like to get more information about. It’s an OTF stiletto style made by “R. Zafrilla” out of Spain. From what I could find online, these are pretty rare but I still haven’t been able to find anything about the exact model that I have.

Any information about this knife would be greatly appreciated and also a ballpark value. Thanks!

I have about 25 patents for Spanish autos. Most date from 1968-1972. They copied many of the French OTFs and other models.

I didn’t see one quite like yours but I’ll bet it’s from the same time frame.

I’ll let the experts tell you more.

Thank you for the information! Very interesting, I read somewhere else that a lot of these were copies of French designs. This one has a patent number of: 176.610 if that means anything.

Still on the fence about selling it as I think it’s an awesome knife and I’ll probably never come across another. But, what would a ballpark value be on something like this incase I do decide to sell? If you know at all.

Most French and Spanish knives from this era are low end quality unfortunately, so they don’t sell for very much. Usually $100-$200 is max value for a mint one.

The French knives from this era are mostly plastic and tin like toys. 500 models all have the same black plastic. Really poor quality. Plus there are thousand of NOS available and only about 3 people in the world collect them so the values are really low. lol
