SCHRADES MY TRUE LOVE

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Thanks Dave.
My favorite is the 1983 version in green bone.
It is a second so I carry it quite often.
I have another 1983 in red bone, just don't have a pic of it handy.

Here's a George Schrade key knife, produced for The Yale & Towne Mfg. Co.

It came in its original display box.

While visiting my friendly within 50 miles of home
factory authorized CASE dealer I discovered he had
this empty Schrade display under the counter.
Just so happens it was for sale.

Took awhile to fill in the blanks but eventually mission accomplished.
All U.S.A. of course. It was a tough job but sOmEbOdY had to do it.

My first 1985 Heritage, 8341-B. Rest of them all 1983s.
Different inspector signature than the '83s too.
This one signed by Teresia Deni.

Eric tells me this Schrade sub-contract is a new one on him! I'd never seen one either, until a friend showed me two, and agreed to sell me one!! Maybe they only had a few made by Schrade - anyone else ever seen one?
I've compared it with a Schrade Cut Co marked knife.
Sperry & Alexander, 1893 - 1920s, according to LG4.
