Schrade 51OT "worker"

Post by Darksev »

A few weeks ago I had made it known I was looking for another 51OT to work on. I'm not a "Big" folder guy, I prefer to carry small knives, but there are occasions in which something a bit more substantial is needed. (Camping, hiking, etc). I absolutely fell in love with the last 51OT I built (there's still a thread somewhere on here with it) but it was just way to pretty to carry off into the wilderness... I needed something a bit more tough (but who wants an ugly knife ;) )

So here's my 51OT "Worker" for you. I Stonewashed the blade (tumbled with medium ceramic media...) hides scratches nicely, easier on my hands than a rubbed satin finish. I used some of the blue and black "Random" micarta I picked up a while ago, which when finished looks fantastic, but still maintains some of the grip Micarta is known for. Some filework on the lockbar, just because I can (adds that element of "fancy")

now, Pictures!

We'll see what she looks like next fall after she's been out playing in a woods for a season or two.
Comments appreciated as always. You guys are the best, have a great thanksgiving!

thats awesome, good choice of base knife, nice filework and the random micarta rally sets it off. If you don't mind sharing shoot me an email with your surce. I think it would look sweet on on of my bushcrafters ::tu::
