If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Sounds like you made good decisions. Like I said earlier, it’s all expensive, but you know everything major is covered. The peace of mind doesn’t have a price.
Hopefully you don’t have to use many of the benefits for a long time!

I’m coming to this late so my apologies. I’ve had a Medicare Advantage plan now for 3 years and love it. Never had any issues. Paid very little out of pocket on this plan and had a pretty big surgery on my rotator cuff. I know that 54% of all Medicare plans are Medicare Advantage so they can’t be as bad as some think or they wouldn’t be so popular.
Also, even though it is administered through United Healthcare, they have to cover the same things that Medicare covers, they can’t just willy nilly decide to change the coverage. It’s managed by them for Medicare. There are other companies that cover these too, Humana, Anthem, etc. They also cover eye exams and allow up to about 700 for eye glasses, as well as dental, wellness visits and mine even has a quarterly stipend for over the counter items like cough and cold medicine, thermometers, and a whole lot more.
I know you decided to go with the plain Medicare plan but I would do my own research on this when it comes time to sign up again. I’m happy with my coverage and so is my wife and everyone I know that is on this.
I’ve also found that Optum home delivery is really good at keeping track of my Rx’s and make it very easy to reorder scripts. They are also good about calling when you skip or stop taking a vital medicine. I don’t know how plain Medicare handles the medicines but I’m very happy with how my Medicare Advantage plan handles them. Hope this helps.

Thank you, Mark! Some good info there.
