Turkey and trout(?) slip joint in O1

Hello all and thanks for looking.

Spring is my favorite time of year and wanted to do a little bird and trout type slip joint (this is a Turkey and Trout!) with more of a drop point blade shape.
This is a new pattern I'm trying out so let me know what you think. Do you like size or need adjusting? Slanted double bolsters good? Mosaic pins as the shield?

Slip joint in O1 with Walnut Burl covers (stabilized).
Nickel silver bolsters, liners and pins.
Mosaic pins on both sides (turkey and trout fly)
(this is one of the few I've made without coin edged liners, but I figured if you did use this to process a fish or bird, the coin edge could collect a lot of nasty stuff)

The pull on this is what I would call a medium. The blade sets low but can still be somewhat pinched open, (See attached video), (my wife had no problem opening it with long nails), half stop, spring lays flat in all 3 positions and the tip is well centered.
Blade hand sanded to 600 grit finish.

OAL: 6"
Closed 3.45"
Cutting Edge: 2.35"

Tim, I don't hunt or fish anymore so can't help from that area. But the knife is beautiful. Love the blade shape and those handles are beautiful.

Thank for the feed back and the kind words. Slanted bolsters seem much tougher for me than the straight. Just getting that angle to fit for me was a chore. As for the mosaic pins, traditionally that is nickel silver or stainless steel cut out. I didn't think i could do a trout fly that well so went with these. I did it once before for a knife for my brother and really liked how they turned out. Thanks again.

First off this knife has a ton of problems. Send it to me ASAP Ill wrap it in some bad leather work and dispose of properly . Maybe on my right hip haha.

Ok what a nice package. Clean lines. The shields or mosaic pins fit with the knife theme and look good. Usability I suspect this is variable based on who uses it. To me the blade length would be fine in the field especially for trout. That said ive made fixed blade bird and trouts in the 3 inch to 3.5 Inch. Which to me would be to large pocket knife wise . The slanted bolster look good to me and a nice fit to the wood also. Slanted adds a whole other level of work also. Also your pictures are very well executed to my untrained eye. Good knife pics are hard to do imo.

Lol thank you sir! I'm personally not into larger pocket knives so I always build about the same size but I know there are a lot of guys that have bigger hands or just do like a bigger knife so I think I need to expand there.

As far as pics go..my wife sometimes says it takes me longer to get pics I'm satisfied with than it does to make the knife lol. I'm learning but I never seem to think a pic actually captures the real depth or beauty of some woods or especially jigged bone. Thanks again for the comment.

Everyone has a preference on handle shape and length, length of blade width of blade etc. Make what you enjoy and people will find you for what ypu make. Nothing wrong with adjusting feom feedback though. You can go mad trying to talior a blade that is right for everyone. Ask me how I know lol.
