In reply to the "Catbird" at your birdbath, BH, may I present this "Turtle Dove" that chose a corner of my yard in which to lay her eggs.
Dickcissels are back in the area a little bit early this year.

You guys sure take impressive photos of the beautiful birds in your areas

I finally managed to capture the timid & elusive egret that I’ve been trying to get for a while. Not the greatest pics but he took off pretty soon after I raised my phone to snap a pic, so I feel lucky to have gotten anything halfway decent. The first one was taken by my wife a few hours earlier.

Enjoyed the egret! We have them too but the more commonly seen here are their cousins, cattle egrets.

Mama bluebird is on the job, sitting on her second batch of eggs. The first brood fledged the nest so I cleaned out the nest box. They built a new nest in the box within a week or so. Meantime the youngsters are still around the area. Sometimes the first brood will help mom and dad feed the next one.

Reminds me of a couple of roosters!

This roadrunner was outside the shop this afternoon when I drove up. Took the pictures through the window of my truck. When I opened the door and stepped out it skedaddled into the brush. I’ve seen several in different places around the ranch recently. Think we have three, or maybe four pairs nesting this year.
