You may not see this anytime soon, Mark, but saying a prayer for you, my friend, and hope the eye surgery next month gets you all fixed up!

For me, if I’m talking comfort knife, it’s gotta have some size to it.

Re: Comfort Knives!
All your knives are excellent
Since I can't insert photos, I made a video. Over the last couple of months, I've caught two garden knives and one jack. They all feel nice in the hand, the Rawson seems to have a buffalo horn scales, very nice to the touch, I'll have to look for their catalogues if they exist. At first I thought the blade was broken and resharpened, until I got it in my hands, it really is a small blade for grafting
03:20 and 12:22 - J Saville Sheffield
21:00 - Rawson Brothers (Sheffield? - im not see stamp)
25:07 - United Cutlery Co Germany (1908-1922?)

CxIII, I am not sure I have found the exact maker, it is possible that the maker's marks can change over time, possibly it could be the same maker.Corn Creek Cutlery wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 12:25 amNot familiar, but I like it! Any info?

VTG JOSEPH HOLBERT CUSTOM HANDMADE SCAGEL STYLE KNIFE W/ EARLY ANVIL H STAMP RARE
Joe Holbert is perhaps the finest maker of “Scagel” style blades. He maintained a shop in Bainbridge Ohio and passed away in 2015.
Vintage custom made hunting knife by the late Ohio Knife Maker Joe Holbert in we found and uncleaned condition. This knife has Holbert’s earl letter H inside the anvil. It includes a custom leather sheath that is likely not original to the blade. 5 7/8” blade, 10 1/8” overall. Brass handle, brass & composition spacers m, a pinned stag (or deerhorn) pommel. Everything is tight. Original edge, with a couple of light pitting/ manufacturing spots along the blade. See pictures for details!
