Re: Series Sets
Annual Reproduction Set #17 produced in 2007 consists of 6 knives. 5 in Red Timeworn Jigged bone and 1 knife in Black Lip Pearl. This color & jigging reminds me of the knives produced by Case for years & years. A Classic in my opinion!

Re: Series Sets
WOW some fantastic show of gr8 S & Ms here....
This brings out a question....Why do you both not just buy the set in the company show case when you want to full up a set?
To me it would be cheeper and you get all with the same serical number.

Re: Series Sets
The Series sets did not come with a display case until Series XII 2002, and Series XIII 2003 has a unique case that is shaped different it has a red keystone embossed on the glass. I for the most part buy complete sets from Clarence but sometimes I buy a knife from one series or another and then fill in the rest. The last two sets XVIII & XIX I have bought from Clarence as complete sets. Sometimes at shows or internet I may pick up some to good to pass up bargins or sometimes Clarence does not have complete sets (Series III gunstock I was able to find through AAPK want ads from David Clark) .justold52 wrote:WOW some fantastic show of gr8 S & Ms here....![]()

As for serial numbers I don't know if they are numbered in any way?.The original S&M boxes are important to me though.
I heard that Series XX my be the last series set as we know it. I asked Jenny at this years Queen show if they were going to do anything special for the 20th year set & all she could tell me is that they are working on someting very special I would not be disappointed. I guess we'll have to wait for the unvailing at next years Shot show. I told Clarence to save one for me

Re: Series Sets
Very nice Series XVII set you have there knowtracks I agree the jigging, patterns, and color make it one of my favorites. I am working on this set, I only have the Stockman that was a gift from a few years back. I started this Series sickness five years ago at a knife show were I Picked up two Series IIII knives a whittler & the lockback (becauce I liked the corn cob bone) & a Series XI Gunstock because I liked that pattern.
If I had to pick my favorite Series it would be either Series VIII or Series IX. What is your favorite and others favorite and why? I like VIII for the color, three different handle materials(Bone,Stag,&Pearl),and the patterns that year & IX for color, look, and blade material ATS-34.
And then there's Series V

Re: Series Sets
Man that's a tough question Buckeye!
As far as pretty goes it's hard to beat Stag in my book. But then again I've always liked any shade of red on a pocket knife. Set #6 & #7 I got simply because of the diversity in the patterns. I don't really care for either their dark green or their dark blue. But I just loved all the different patterns that hadn't shown up in previous sets.
A set really has to speak to me in some way before I buy it. Take the 1st 2 sets for instance, they are pretty much the same patterns just different handle material so I went with the red & haven't gotten the brown yet. Set #9 with the ATS-34 steel on the master blades & that shade of green is 1 of my favs.
But I didn't really care for set #10.
I guess I'm just weird!!
Set #12 the 100th Anniversary Set is the most elegant and the most scarce. So worth the most cash!! It is the 1 set that I would never use.
I really like both set #17 & #18 with the red (once again) Time worn and the dark brown berry scales. Plus the diversity in the pattern in both sets but especially in set #18.
I guess it would be like picking a favorite child... I just couldn't!
Or like my old buddy Donny use to say "Which girl is prettiest??? It depends on who's lookin.

BuckeyeSchatt said "I told Clarence to save one for me"???
Perhaps you can ask Clarence to put my name on that list also.
Or perhaps you can make a better deal if I buy one set from you ??

Re: Series Sets
Well I think I got a good deal on some S&M sets.
2008 Series XVIII
Here is one that the seller asked me if I wanted one more of.
Time will tell if I get it. If any one whats a set like this one please PM me.
Perhaps looking at all the super sets here made me pull the triger on a S&M set.
My first set of S&Ms....
