Does anyone know this Sharpfinger model #?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Does anyone know this Sharpfinger model #?

Post by Reverand »

Someone gifted me this Old Timer large Sharpfinger that is very rusty. I did not even know that Schrade made a larger version of the Sharpfinger until this knife.
Not the first time that I have been late to the party!
Anyway, I have begun cleaning it, but between the rust and a light imprint I am still unable to read the model number.
Does anyone know off the top of their head? I think that I can make out "15x7", where "x" is indecipherable. I have tried searching for every thing between 1507 to 1597, with no results, so I am probably misreading one of the other digits.

Possibly a 15 OT. Not a Schrade collector but seem to remember there’s a model out there that’s bigger than the small one with model number 15 OT

They also call this model "DeerSlayer" A great heavy duty knife!

Toungueriver: That is a pretty rare set you have there! I bought one just like it yesterday. I read up on it and i guess it is almost like a prototype.
Basket weave sheath, laced only made 2 years, 64 & 65. Your knife should have a pat pend on blade. You may already know all this but i think cool.

Yes; it does have Pat.pending on the pile side. This set is available, along with a good share of my knives, these days. I am gradually downsizing.
