Shug Fisher was a member of the Sons of the Pioneers along with Ken "Festus" Curtis. He actually appeared on Gunsmoke 22 times.

Seems like he played the town drunk on Gunsmoke and he did it well. 8)

Saw one of my favorite character actors in The Big Sleep on TCM yesterday. Elisha Cook Jr. had a 60+ year career in film and television in all sorts of roles, from psychopathic gangsters to westerns and comedies. Probably best know for his roles as a gangster gunman in 21 film noirs (he played Sidney Greenstreet’s smarmy psycho gunman “Wilmer”, in The Maltese Falcon for example).

Earl Holliman died yesterday. I remember him for his work in a lot of westerns as well as other movies and tv.

I was watching an Andy Griffith episode and kept trying to place one of the guest actors. I did a search and it was Jesse White. In addition to movie and television series appearances, he was also the "Maytag repairman" for 21 years.

Good catch Ike,
Being the Maytag repairman for so long allowed him to peruse other things with all of his time.

Karl Otto Alberty. Had a long career with many roles but often typecast as a German army officer.

I was checking out an old Clark Gable movie on TCM, and Thomas Mitchell was in the cast. I don't think that he has been mentioned here, aka "Uncle Billy".
