Good morning all. I've been up for a while and already had my first cup. I slept in this morning till about 7:00. Still having to sleep in the recliner after the shoulder surgery. I'm 3 weeks out from surgery but the doctor wants me to sleep in the recliner for the first 6 weeks. I'm getting tired of my brand new recliner!
But last night I slept well, about 8 hours maybe a little more. Got up this morning, fed the puppies and had devotional time.
I am trying to reorganize my shop and get rid of junk. That's easier said than done!
I have heard it said that one man's junk is another man's treasure. I'm wondering why all the treasures I accumulated over the years now seem to be junk,? If they're not totally junk, they don't seem to be nearly as valuable as they did when I bought them! LOL!
I have got to do a little more cleaning this morning before my new toolbox gets here. I will post a picture of it later. It's going to give me a fairly decent work service with lots of storage beneath it. Besides it just looks cool!

Having to sleep in a recliner must be a complete pain. Being able to get 8 hours is fantastic. When having a clean out you just have to be brutal my friend otherwise you are just reorganizing stuff and not making room to be more functional. Have a good weekend.

I feel your pain! I have been sleeping in the recliner due to acid reflux problems. On top of that My garage is packed with junk that nobody wants now, ESPECIALLY ME!!! ... and I am wondering how did I ever think it was a good idea to get all this junk???

Good Mornin', Knifers.
73° this morning, partly cloudy, afternoon showers predicted. Yesterday we were able to get the front and north yard mowed, the showers started around 11:30, finished in the rain. Got another 0.65".
Always something to do inside, yesterday I got a load of clothes washed and dried. Nothing pressing now except the large pieces of tree limbs that remain in the edge of the yard.
Waiting for a couple of HOKs from the shallow end of the bay, as usual one is already late.
Coffee's about gone, need to make some breakfast on this last Saturday of May.

Good morning. It's a chilly 51 degrees and should get up into the upper 60's today. Men's Bible study is here at my house in an hour, so I better get moving. I still have to feed the chickens and start the coffee. We have a funeral for a very elderly lady from the community after that and the grandkids are moving into the basement suite today, so I'm looking at a long busy day. Last week was brutal for my old bones and joints with the tear off and installing the metal roof for a customer. We didn't finish that job, but we have to pull off for part of a day on Monday to finish the siding job we didn't get done before starting this one. The back-ordered siding has been sitting at that site for a week. Tomorrow is truly going to be a day of rest. Have a great weekend.____Dave

I spent much of the morning taking knife photos out on the back deck. The lighting was conducive to the task at hand (cloudy) with no strong winds to complicate things. Being the multi-tasker that I am (NOT) I also did some bird watching along with the knife photography. A red headed woodpecker played hide and seek with me for quite a while, ducking in and out from behind the electric pole in the back yard. He was obviously keeping a sharp eye on me. A flock of barn swallows made their annual debut swirling around me numerous times before they moved on elsewhere. All in all, a most pleasant morning and the coffee was good to boot!

Good morning. Mid 40's to start the day and should hit the mid 70's later. We will probably watch our church services on line this morning and help the kids with the mess of moving in. Mostly I just try to stay out of the way, but sometimes they call for help. The skunk smell is mostly gone from Gypsy and our living room and the basement shower where I washed Gypsy a couple times. The basement suite has an abundance of spiders that sneak in occasionally, and our Granddaughter totally freaks out at spiders, mice, any other bug that is in the house or near the house, or in the same county if she sees it, so I'm waiting for the reality of where she is now living to set in. There will likely be sound effects when she sees her first harmless wolf spider or mouse. She adores Mickey Mouse and I haven't been able to convince her that all the deer mice around here are related to Mickey. I gotta run. Have a great Sunday.____Dave

Good Mornin', JP. That's a mighty fine picture, the pond is slick, looks like a top water plug around the edges might temp an ol' bass to strike. I know that ain't a Florida pond but if it was, that's what I'd expect. Dave, sounds like you're in for an interesting time.
74° here at Starvation Plantation, weather has been the same for several weeks, good chance of rain somewhere in the Panhandle today. This weather pattern has caused our drought severity to lessen a bit. Still behind but slowly catching up. East of us, on the other side of the Appalatchicola River the drought is still listed as severe. The last 24 hours only produced a quarter of an inch in the gauge, again, every drop is welcomed!
Was able to move all of the pine tree top yesterday afternoon with the exception of 2 pieces, one didn't get cut into manageable lengths and the other is drove into the ground so deep it'll have to be pulled up with the tractor.
There were 5 deer browsing through the yard when I got up around 6. The mini-dachshund showed his displeasure by barking and growling enough to cause them to hurry into the woods.
Church in a couple of hours then maybe an easy afternoon.

Morning folks from Effingham Illinois, 62 the low, high to be in the mid 70's sez the nws.
Had a full day yestiddy traveling and the wedding and reception of a bosses first cousin's grandson. We have a funeral today for her first cousin Ray.
Seems like we are extremely busy.
Had a fine time visiting with the widows of two good Nam buddies up in Columbus Indiana, then came down to Jeffersonville and surprised my buddy on his birthday, we had set it up with his grandson that he raised. Tickled him to no end, we had his favorite pizza and cake that evening and told ole war stories, I ask if he knew exactly where we was and what was happening 60 years ago as it was his birthday and I figured he'd remember sure enough he came up with it.
He took me over to meet his next door neighbor that was a seabee in Danang the same we were over there. It was just a all around good time.
No news on Wampus.
Wow yawl talking about sleeping in a recliner, slept in a big lazy boy for years off and on because of gerd before we bought this number smart bed. I loved it, I'd had that chair for about thirty years sure hated to see ot go. The thing fit me to a tee. But the boss got tired of looking at the old maroon mouse fur material thing even though in had been moved the man cave/ computer / bedroom for years, it had to go.

Welcome to the 1st day of Hurricane season! This year is rolling along. 70° this morning and it's overcast. Had a couple of showers yesterday.
Had a normal Sunday, not much planned for today other than trying to finish up the downed tree clean up. Always limbs falling in the yards.
Letting my 1st cup cool down just a bit before I get started on it.

Morning folks, 61 the low may make 80 by afternoon, radar shows that Effingham is just barely in the path off some rain, the good thing is it heading toward Greenbrier, the bosses cameras shows we are already had a shower this a.m.
We had cousin Ray's celebration of life yestiddy and it was a full house the folks at his church put on a feed to be remembered, these Illinois farm gals shore can cook.
The boss is helping cousin Marilyn get things straightened out after her hushband Dave's passing, his celebration of life is next Saturday, man it's been a hectic few days I hoping to lay around and rest while they run all around today.
Wampus is in good hands fellers, don't worry.
Scott them boys done out growed you, they are a fine looking group of young men.

PS I went to put my suit pants on and found and old John primble that I didn't know was missing out of the edc rotation.

Good Morning Everyone!
I can't believe how many people in our church are sick and it just hangs on. I still have breathing problems from my pneumonia and our pastor is back in the hospital the second time with pneumonia. One of our elders was back in church yesterday after being out for almost 3 weeks with the same thing. Our youth minister has been sick and in the hospital and I believe one of our elderly ladies has had pneumonia. Our poor music director has had to pull double duty the last couple of weeks. Nothing too exciting here in Dixie. Did some weedeating when I got in from work yestiddy.
Ol' Stihl didn't want to run right, I hope it just needs an air filter.
Storms rolled through late afternoon, moving north to south which is odd. Power was out for about 6 hours.

Only thing on the agenda today is to chop the ice buildup out of the fridge freezer. It's pushing the door open !

41 this AM and 81 later under full sun. Scott, hope your GF can get the care she needs. Big Pharma stinks and some powerful people need some serious jail time in my humble opinion. Yesterday we wrapped up the final siding on the house we built for the customer last fall and got back to the metal roof job, where we will likely be for most of the rest of the week. One of the houses we are scheduled to build this summer is on hold while the owner does battle with his recently divorced wife. Life sure can get messy at times. Jane and I have had our share of hills to climb, but are sneaking up on 57 years come next month, and it appears we will make it to the end of this season of our existence hand in hand and she and God get the credit for that. I just go to work and do as I'm told, at least most of the time. I hope your Tuesday is a good one.____Dave

Need to change blades on the mower today, it may be too wet to mow, at least we'll be ready when it dries out.
Yesterday I finished cleaning up the limbs from last week's tree falling. One of the limbs was driven into the dirt 48", had to pull it out with the tractor.

Still have a bunch of pine cones to rake up.
