Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Including you? That is a nice giveaway, a little salt should take the blood out of the fabric.

Who is your all time favorite, Ryan or "Pudge"?

We were gifted the tickets by friends who are season ticket holders. They couldn't go. We didn't even know there was a giveaway until we entered the stadium. My wife thinks the "blood" is gross. We will give the jerseys to the folks that gave us the tickets.

Ryan and Pudge were both great but my all time favorite Ranger is Adrian Beltre. Great player who played with joy, had fun and was fun to watch. Those players were all worth the price of admission to watch them play.

I had never really thought about it until now, but if I was to pick my favorite to have ever played for the Rangers it would be Buddy Bell. There isn't much I like better in a baseball game than watching a premier defensive 3rd baseman, and Buddy also had a little pop in his bat. My oldest brother was a Gus Bell fan and I have some early memories of him playing.

Buddy Bell was indeed a premier defensive 3rd baseman. Over the years the Rangers have been blessed with some good 3rd basemen. Buddy Bell was maybe the best before Beltre, whose defensive prowess was nothing short of other-worldly.

As a lifelong Cardinals fan I grew up watching Ken Boyer, and later Scott Rolan. Both were all-stars but unfortunately each was overshadowed during their respective eras by a couple of guys named Eddie Mathews and Mike Schmidt. The Rangers currently have a young potential star at third base named Josh Jung, who has the defensive skills to be outstanding. Whether he can stay healthy is the big question so far in his young career.

Mumbleypeg wrote: Sat May 30, 2026 4:53 am We went to the Royals/Rangers game tonight. Sellout crowd. It’s the first weekend after most schools around here are out for the summer, so that probably helped sell tickets. But many if not most were there for the baseball uniform jersey giveaway promotion. It is a replica of the Rangers’ Nolan Ryan “bloody lip” game jersey, when Nolan was hit in the mouth during the second inning by a batted ball off the bat of Bo Jackson. Nolan never left the game and continued pitching, with a bleeding lip, into the eight inning. The real game-worn jersey is at the MLB Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

Here are pictures of tonight’s giveaway replica jersey, and the real deal.

Oh, the Rangers won 9-1.

Ken
A perfect giveaway.

Scott Rolen was the great 3rd baseman at delivering a ball to 1st and my favorite new era Cardinal ( he became a Red😊).
Brooks Robinson and their pitching staff made me an Orioles fan.

...and he was a southern Indiana boy, I wonder how JerryD felt about him being from the area in which he grew up but then playing for the "hated" Cardinals?
Rolen was probably my favorite Redbird during his time in StL and LaRussa's treatment of him and Ozzie completely turned me against that man. He had great managerial success but is a first class jerk.

Just returned home from a road-trip with some friends to Saint Louis to watch the Rangers play the Cardinals. We saw the two games the Rangers won, de Grom pitched Monday and Eovaldi on Tuesday, then worked our way back home.

Saw some POS junk and some nice knives that were way overpriced IMHO, so left them there.

Thanks for post, Floyd is correct, 2 good games for a Rangers fan, you saw a milestone win for DeGrom, and that other win had a lot of back and forth action.

You should have driven a couple hours east on I-70 and helped BigHomer eat that "elephant ear" sandwich that he posted a pic of in the FCD.
