Morning, folks
76 right now here in the Missouri Ozarks and we're looking at a high of 83.
Haven't been on here too much lately. So much of life gets in the way. ::doh::
Sheared down my six hedges in the backyard yesterday and all that left is the skeleton branches. I'm NOT looking forward to digging up the trunks. But the wife and I decided to do it due to yard snakes and wasps making them their little hideouts.
Later on, I have to throw the brush over the back fence so our mower will take it all on Thursday when he comes to mow. Other than that, nothing on the agenda. I do have a garage staring at me to be cleaned at some point. I reiterate....at SOME point.
Y'all have a great Tuesday! Remember to be safe, be careful and be alert out there!
My best to all of you! ::nod:: ::tu::

Good Morning Everyone!
Had a rough night, my buddy Mr. Griffin had 2 seizures last night and to my knowledge he hadn't had one in almost a year. He is 13 years old and I really worry about him. He will be tired and sleepy most of the day.
For me I've got 3 wood burning art projects going right now, so I'll stay busy. Have a blessed day and be safe... :D
Mr. Griffin. He supervises me.

Good morning. 52 degrees going up to 82 today. I'm taking Jane in to town for her last monthly cancer check this morning. After this one she goes to every other month for a year. David, it's tough when our furry family members have medical issues. I've had more than my share of sleepless nights so I feel your pain. This afternoon we should be finishing up the last part of the metal roof project. The owner is a retired sheet metal worker and he is fabricating all his own trim, so he has a long way to go yet, but I think he's doing that on his own. No church activities tonight so nothing on my plate except work for the rest of the week. Have a great Wednesday._____Dave

Good Mornin', Fellers.
We have a northeast breeze blowing this morning, the humidity is below 70% and the temperature was 69°, almost feels like a fall morning. No rain in forecast until the weekend. Grass is growing! Did a blade exchange on the mower yesterday, greased the 7 zerk fittings and need to blow out the air filter before we start mowing today.
School teacher daughter visited yesterday afternoon, she is changing schools next term. She anxious to see her new job site. She invited a couple of her friends to come and eat fried venison tomorrow and told me about it yesterday. ::shrug:: Probably a good day as my workday helper has a doctor appointment tomorrow.
Church tonight and probably a run by Walmart afterwards when it's not too busy. Life would be easier if grocery shopping wasn't part of the weekly activities!
Y'all enjoy the day! ::tu::

Morning folks, the low was 55 and the high is predicted to be in the low 80's sez the nws. Yestiddy was nice.
The boss and cousin Marilyn have been busy taking care of business, Dave's celebration of life will be Saturday with food all all.
We went to the airport at Matoon Illinois yestiddy for dinner, several places around have a tenderloin samidge that the meat hangs off the bun about a inch all the way around, so they have one called the elephant ear pork tenderloin sandwich, so I figured that was what it was. I ordered it and a small side of hand breaded onion rings.this is what I received.

Good Mornin', FCD is open, come on in and enjoy a cup. ::handshake::
Kinda chilly this morning, 59°. Yesterday went fairly well, got most of the east or backyard mowed, a couple of spots had to be bypassed because it's a bit wet. What a change from the dry conditions we've had since last fall!
Half of a workday today, housekeeper is coming, my helper has a doctor appointment up in Dothan, Alabama. Lots of things I can do without help. It's just nice to have help now and then. ::nod:: Maybe it's a good thing today since I'm frying venison for a couple of school teachers at noon. ::hmm::
Small crowd at church last night for some reason.
Y'all have a good Thursday!

Good morning. Phil, we are one degree warmer than you are this AM. It's raining lightly but not supposed to amount to much. We may start a kitchen today. The owner is leaving for a week sometime, so we aren't sure when she wants us to begin. I have plenty to do around the homestead so I'll be bust either way. have a good Thursday._____Dave

Good Friday morning. %6 degrees going up to mid 70 later with rain possible this afternoon. It rained last night late. We are still dry so that was welcomed. Today we are getting the house ready for a Grad. party for a great grandson party tomorrow. My job is mostly to stay out of the way and keep the younger great grandkids from destroying the place while the ladies are distracted in the kitchen. Have a good Friday and weekend.______Dave

Good Mornin', Dave and others stopping by the diner.
The tall pines are lit up by sun light, always beautiful to watch, not just the light but the changing path as the seasons change. During the summer the setting sun makes walking out to the main road a blinding experience, in the winter the setting sun shifts to the south and leaves the east west running road in the shade. Warmer this morning, 62° for our low, another dry forecast for the day.
Had an easy workday yesterday, worked on a few little projects before it was time to begin cooking the venison dinner for our school teacher daughter and 3 of her friends. Afternoon nap was in order, afterwards I went down in the woods and changed the batteries in one of the game cameras. Only a few really interesting pictures this time. Hummingbirds are still coming to the feeder, they are so unique!
Coffee is good this morning, drinking alone, the mini-dachshund is still soundly sleeping. One unpleasant thing at Starvation Plantation is the terrible mosquito problem that follows and accompanies wet weather! Need not forget the bug spray when going outside.
Fridays used to be a good thing when I was gainfully employed. One of my older friends retired before for me used to say of retirement, "Everyday is Saturday except Sunday!"
Y'all have a productive Friday.

Mornin' Y'all

Up early with a bit of a headache. Mowed the hay yesterday ... had been too wet to cut for 3 weeks, so it was thick.
Head and eyes fulla dust and grass. ::doh::

Had been considering going to the Blade Show in Atlanta today, never been. But ....
nearly $4 gas, $15 parking and $35 tickets, and a 2.5 hour drive have convinced me to keep it at home.
I absolutely don't need more knives. The wife told me "you go for the experience".

Pots ready ... Yawl have a good 'un
Chris
i woke last night to the sound of thunder
how far off i sat and wondered
started humming a song from nineteen sixty two
aint it funny how the night moves

Good Morning Everyone!
Chris, I hear the same speech from my wife also and no matter what I tell her about collecting knives it just goes over her head.
Got a couple of knives to get the pocket lent out of and polish them just a little then I have to get back to my wood burning art.
Also, some time today I have to print off the church bulletins and the prayer list for church tomorrow. Have a blessed day and be safe.... :D

Good morning. Two Grad parties for great grandkids today. Three of my siblings are making the trip to attend so that is always good. We don't get together near as often as we'd like. Later this summer we will all get together for a sibling reunion. The weather is cooperating for todays parties so much of the celebrating will be outdoors and even the mosquitoes are doing their best to not show up lately because it's been so cool and dry. I worry about the three Robin nests full of babies around the yard. the worms and bugs are a little hard to come by, but they seem to be doing OK. Have a great weekend._____Dave

Good Mornin', Fellers.
63° this morning, made it to 89 yesterday. Had a pretty good day yesterday, housework went well but hit a bump with the zeroturn, it wouldn't start. Not sure of what is going on, the battery is fully charged but it's not getting power to the starter. There are 3 safety switches that have to be made in order for it to start. It all worked fine when I mowed on Wednesday and a little bit on Thursday morning. ::shrug:: My brother-in-law that passed back in December used to say, "YouTube is your friend". Maybe I can figure it out, if not the shop will be open Monday morning.
Tomorrow morning I will be traveling to Thomasville to see our youngest grandson baptized. School teacher daughter will ride with me, our daughter and son-in-law from Monroe GA will meet us there for this special occasion. Dawson's other grandparents will be there too. Miss Joy would have really enjoyed this upcoming occasion!
Coffee's gone, time to get the day started, already burned a bunch of daylight! ::nod::

Good Mornin', got the coffee going, y'all come get a cup. ::handshake::
Up a little earlier than usual on Sunday morning,we're driving to Thomasville in a couple of hours. Going to see our youngest grandson be baptized.
There must have been a "gremlin" in the zeroturn, it cranked yesterday morning without any issue. ::shrug:: Got the front yard and north side mowed without a problem. In the afternoon, I tried to mow around the pond that we call "Granny's Pond" and the mosquitoes were horrendous! Can't remember seeing them this bad before! Bug spray keeps them from biting but you best not breathe through your mouth!
All evidence of last week's cool front is gone. 70° this morning, yesterday we got to 90°.
Y'all have a blessed Sunday!

Good morning. Phil, you must have all our mosquitoes too because they haven't shown up here yet this year. Gnats haven't either. It's been too cold. Church is in a few hours and that's all I have planned for the day. It appears we are in for a nice one as far as weather is concerned. Have a great Sunday.____Dave

Morning folks, 72 heading to the mid 80's slight chance of scattered showers.
We had a big turnout for my old buddy and cousin in law Dave's celerbration of life yestiddy. Fine meal catered by Niemergs steak house.
One of the bosses cousins found out my son and I were knife nuts and brought me one and my son one of his dad's old pocket knives, mine is a Chapman and the sons a Colonial frontier. Old chapman is well used but still got some meat on it. Uncle Harry must've liked it

A glorious North Carolina morning is happening right now! I had to wait for the right moment for our Oak Island lighthouse at the mouth of the Cape Fear River to shine its beacon. Happy Monday everyone.

68° here at Starvation Plantation this overcast morning.
We had a safe trip to and from Thomasville yesterday.
Lawn mowing is probably the big activity for the morning.
Hope everyone has a successful day.
