Is This Gerber Called The Remix?

In 1939 Joseph Gerber (advertising agency owner) had custom knife maker David Murphy make 24 sets of carving knife for some of his select customers. Catalog retailer Abercrombie & Fitch saw them and was so impressed with the quality of the knives they wanted to sell them. Thus was born Gerber Legendary Blades.

Is This Gerber Called The Remix?

Post by Paladin »

Guys,
I picked this knife up in a batch of stuff and I was pleased to see that it is a Gerber and made in the USA. I have looked just about everywhere and I can't figure out what the name might be.
In my search I found similar new knives called Remix. Is this an older version of the Remix? If so, about when do you think it was made? My best guess is the 1990s, but that is just a WAG.

As always, any info will be appreciated,
Ray

That's a Gerber Chameleon. There are three sizes. I'll check some old Gerber catalogs and see what I can find.

Gerber does make a knife called the Remix, but it's a different knife.

Here we go. The Chameleon series was first released in 1999.

From a 1999 Gerber catalog-
