South Texas Flooding
Once again the South Texas Hill Country is flooded in much of the area NW of San Antonio. My daughter and family live in Comfort, TX. and they have already rescued two families from their flooded homes. On couple has several inches of water in their house and an elderly couple had to be rescued from their attic. Their church and the high school are on high ground and are being used as shelters and relocation buildings. My granddaughter Grace was taking care of some animals for some folks but is now trapped in their house that sits on a hill but the road to get there has been closed. Someone had reported that the water along the Guadalope River had risen 34 feet in a matter of a few hours. We are being told that it could be worse than last years flooding. Please remember this area and the rescue crews that will be there in yours prayers.

The only good news on this storm is that they've been predicting the heavy rain for nearly a week, and a lot of places were already preparing for the flooding.
Comfort and surrounding territory is not currently being rained on, BUT... the heavy rain has now shifted to the west. And all that rain is still going to come barreling down the same creeks and rivers running through Kerr and Gillespie counties.
Some weather guessers are saying that it is a "Hurricane Harvey" event, where tropical storm conditions move into an area and stalls, just sitting there dumping tons of rain. Some predictions are 20 to 30 inches for the week. I'm sitting here at only 3 inches so far this week.

Re: South Texas Flooding
My daughter Amy just sent me a text saying Ingram (a city founded and named after my great, great grandfather) just got hit with a 33 foot wall of water on the Guadalope River and it is headed down river toward them. Canyon lake is up from 16 ft to 54 ft. My granddaughter is still trapped in the house where she is taking of some church members animals. Last known she still had power and water. I know in Matthew 6 God tells us not to worry but as I am His child these are my children and I just want to get in the car and go, but I won't. I'll be up most of the night praying until I get some word in the morning.

Praying for your daughter, and all others affected. So strange that such a beautiful area with the normally serene Guadalupe River is experiencing this flooding again.

Thank you all for your prayers. The one I worry about the most is my son in law Matt. He is such a good hearted person but sometimes he just jumps right into something without thinking it through or about the concequencies. Oh well he's a good son in law and I guess I'm stuck with him.
