It's Wharncliffe Wednesday!

Here are some Case Wharnies, the two at the top of course are both modifications. They happen to be two of my favorite Wharncliffe blades and they do get their fair amount of pocket time. I am looking for some case red bone pieces that will match the broken piece. Both of the modifications were done by Johnnie Fain, one of the reasons I like them so much. They also have great steel and a good feel in the hand.

I am in the process of downsizing/liquidating my collection so my days of participation in Wharncliffe Wednesday are numbered and all the knives I have shown and still have yet to show will be sold at some point relatively soon.....

Q - I hate to read that. Seems as if you have one of the largest collections of single blade Wharncliffes in the Pacific Ocean area.

Three of the five have been modified in some way; on the 2022 GEC Northfield #77 Yankee Barlow, John "Lansky1" reprofiled the factory spear blade into a Wharncliffe to resemble the 2014 release of this model, on the Case Copperlock (5)1549WL, Michael Fisher "TBarK" installed the antique Stag handle, filed the spring and converted it to a double action automatic, and on the Queen (factory cobbled frankenknife) I forced the blade patina with white vinegar to retard corrosion.

some beauties there Q as usual. Sorry to hear you're going to be selling your wharnie's - i always got the impression those were your pride and joy. Can you tell us how will you be selling - eBay, AAPK or another outlet ?

Believe me, John, I'm not selling them because I don't still love them, it's just what I feel I must do and I hope they will bring as much joy to other collectors as they have to me. I'm not in any hurry to sell them and I would prefer to see my babies go to other AAPK members so if you see any that you simply can't live without, feel free to give me a shout; although, most of the Wharnies I've shown in this thread have already been sold (including the Stags I posted this week). Some of my higher end knives will be sold on consignment through AG Russells's The Cutting Edge. As for selling on eBay, I would rather throw my knives into Kilauea as a sacrificial offering to Madam Pele than subject myself to that s#!+ show ever again

Only for selling, Floyd, eBay is great for buying. If not for eBay, I never could have experienced all the fabulous knives I have over the past 20+ years.
