Buck Creek Information ???

I need help with these two. I cannot find any information on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Frank
1. The imitation pearl Buck Creek is 3 ¾” long. The main blade is etched “Indian Head Hand Made Germany” with 2 Indian heads on the tang with Buck Creek under them, the reverse says Soligen Germany but the “g” in Soligen is different it is kind of fancy. The other two blades have the two Indian Heads with Buck Creek underneath them on the tangs. The shield is round with an Indian Head and the date 1902.
2. The green handle is 3 13/16” long with the main blade etched “Rattler Hand Made” with Buck Creek on the tang. This is the open antler version around Buck Creek with Soligen Germany on the reverse. The other two blades say Buck Creek with one blade saying, “Oil the Joints”. The shield is bullet shape with Soligen and the open antler.

indian head : 1976-1989.......3 7/8"..earliest prod run have master blade long pull which almost reaches to the blade tang........$75-145bucks

One more thing.

Keep an eye on them. Some of their cell handles are well known for "gassing" ( decomposing ) and the fumes will destroy the knife. Other than that, they are well made knives.

I have several of them, green, yellow, cracked yellow ice, black, and white and so far they are all gas free. My grandpa had these for a long time and I hope they don't gas. They are very sentimental to me.

Only thing I can add here is that Smokey Mountain has some on their website. I don't know they are exclusive or they bought the trademark or what. So there are current ones with those stamps available.

The Buck Creek brand is owned by Frost Cutlery Co. along with numerous other brands. Frost enjoys a close working relationship with Smoky Mountain Knife Works. If you visit the SMKW store you will find the Buck Creek knives located adjacent to the Hen and Rooster knives, another Frost owned German made brand.
They are well made knives. I like em.

I have seen a few still listed made with carbon steel blades. These newer made BC are not as good as the older in my opinion.

I do not know where the Buck Creek knives are now made. There seems to be some mystery swirling now as to the origins of the Hen And Rooster knives that Frost owns and I suspect the same may be true for the Buck Creeks. Boker no longer is the maker of these knives and it is not clear to anyone I know just where Frost is having either brand manufactured now.

yes buck creek is owned by frost cutlery, and the reason that smkw carries so many of the frost knives is that jim frost and james parker were partners in the 70s. they even had their own frost/parker brand made in japan... very nice knives...

i am not sure where the buck creeks are manufactured now.. frost does a lot of knives in china.....

Has anyone seen a Buck Creek with S/S on the shield? If so what does it mean?

I'm pretty sure that it means "Stainless Steel".
Are the blades marked Stainless?
