Here's a New York Crown Jack now selling on eBay. I asked for and got some sharper pics of the tang marks and from their appearance (modern machine made tang stamps) came to the conclusion that it was a repro from probably the 1980s or 1990s. In further discussion with the seller, I was asked just WHO could have reproduced the knife and that stumped me. So, I would like any info that any AAPK member could provide about who did the repop??? My best guess of American manufacturers was Queen but I also felt that possibly it was German made and so marked of foreign manufacture with an adhesive label. All help appreciated..... Thanks, Eric

I can't tell you with any certainty who made the knife in question. What I can tell you is that Schrade created in 1985 a reproduction of the first official Boy Scout knife which was made originally by New York Knife Co. The reproduction did bear the New York Knife Co. tang stamp.

In light of that I think it is at least a possibility, if in fact the knife in question is a reproduction, that it may have been done by Schrade.

Most likely Jim Parker, he had lots of old American knife company names stamped on knives made in Germany during the 1980`s
