Carl Schlieper Congress knife
I was recently given a Carl Schlieper knife.
From what i can gather it is a congress knife with a stag handle.
The blade stamp reads:
CARL SCHLIEPER
Hammer forged
Solingen GERMANY
and is has the eye just left of the text.
there is another blade that has "56-DS" stamped at the base of the blade.
It is missing the shield inlay on the handle and I was hoping that someone could tell me where I could get a new inlay or if it is worth the money to do so.
Any information you could provide me would be appreciated. I can send a pic, but since my interest is just the shield I did no see the need at this point.
Thanks, D. Jordan
I can send a pic if needed, but

Welcome to AAPK.
Not all Eye Brand knives have the same shield, so a picture would help those who may have a spare shield know if they have what you need.
Besides, we just love knife pictures around here.

This is probably the best pic I can get for now.
It needs some help, but it could be a nice knife.

Google C. Risener or Clarence Risner. He has a company that sells many of the newer Eyes. What you will need is a round shield that is embossed with the Eye Logo. I am not sure how many sizes there are. If in doubt, you can just get 1 of each.

Re: Carl Schlieper Congress knife
I lost the shield out of an old three eye pen knife i once had (lost it through a hole in my pocket). I contacted the people that the website noted, they sent me two new shields for free. Nice folks huh. I used a degreaser on the stag before i used two part epoxy to put the new shield in the hole. It seems to be difficult to keep a shield in a stag scaled knife, because the one in my old Boker pen knife came out also.
