Senators and Gents!! Mutually exclusive??

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Senators and Gents!! Mutually exclusive??

Post by upnorth »

How about a thread for Senators and Pens, and Gent's knives in general?? :) I'll go first. This came out of a salesman's roll, maybe from the 1920s-1930s?? It is nicely made ::tu:: ; I suspect it is hard to fit stag to smaller knives. This one is right on 3 1/8".

Scratches are on my scanner! :(

Yes,to any knife collecting newcomers, if you come across an old knife with numbers written on the blades, DON'T rub 'em off! They're model numbers purposely put on with an etching pen for salesman samples.

The blade markings we are joking about can be worth as much as the knife itself. Preserve them!

Hard to follow opening acts like those, but I'll try. Here's one I picked up off the bay recently.
