A Tribute to the Sharpfinger

Schrade’s 152OT, the Sharpfinger, is a very enduring pattern. Introduced in 1973 it was made through the closing of the factory in 2004. Since Schrade closed there have been numerous companies that have copied the pattern commercially.

This is a tribute to the Sharpfinger in Damascus.

The blank is Firestorm Damascus made of 1095 carbon steel and 15N20 nickel steel.
The blade is made by Grand Leavitt, in the Snake River Valley of Idaho.
OAL is 5-1/8 inches and 56-57 on the Rockwell C scale.

I finished this knife off with mosaic pins and fossilized mammoth ivory handles.

There are two firsts for me in this knife; my first knife I have done in Damascus and the first time I have worked with fossil ivory. It was not too difficult and I like the results.
I intend to do this again.

That is a beautiful knife. The contrast of the damascus with the handles makes for an attractive look. I likes it.

Super job, Dale! That is one sweeeet looking knife. Bet she'd be a dandy user too! (I'd hate to scratch it though!) Is it for a customer or yourself?

I had ordered the blank orginally thinking it was full size.
When it arrived I was a bit shocked but I liked it anyway.
Grand said he would trade it for a bigger one & I would pay the difference, but I decided to make this one up.

It will probably end up in my store sooner or later, unless someone buys it first and saves me the trouble of listing it.
I am trying to build up a stock of knives for the April OKCA Show, but people keep buying them as fast as I can make them!
It's a good problem!
