Hey badboy,

Can you tell me what model it is ? A little difficult to tell by your pic .....

I'm assuming a 61050 L or a 6111 1/2 Cheetah

Can you supply a pic of the overall knife and the back tang stamp ?

I think you have a Case Classic .... made sometime between 1990 - 1996

It's no doubt a Case Classic. I would have to check the production dates in the book.

Case knives were only date-stamped from 1990 to mid 1993, mostly during the Jim Parker years. Parker production records should reveal when yours was made.

They were, yes.

Every pattern from the Classics program is year dated. Don't let the "old" style tang stamps throw you, that was the essence of the program; to bring back the knives of yester-year.

Gary wasn't there some 254 pattern trappers made in house at Case that carried the Springville and one other tang stamp not dated with the year? I can't recall for sure off the top of my head right now. Brain spasm I guess.... ::shrug::

Springville and Gowanda, and I have a bad habit of using words like every, never and always; and we know that those words never apply in the knife business..............lol.
