I noticed that but then, "quality" and "cheap" are seldom, if ever, used in the same sentence. ::nod::

Sorry cloudy, I didn't think. I didn't mean to jump in and steal your thunder, robbing you of the pleasure of talking about your own knife. Please accept my apology.

French in my pocket today!
An Opinel no 7 with carbon steel.

Nothing fancy, just a no-nonsense, light weigh and inexpensive user.
The thin blade stock makes it less than ideal for the most heavy duty tasks, but it is an excellent slicer. ::nod::

Basically I carry one of these, finally took the time to figure out how to shrink a picture.

I picked up the Schatt & Morgan about two months ago and have been carring that mostly. I have one GEC missing in action so I bought two more of the Granite pattern and this is backup I have been carrying. (That actually makes 5 of that pattern that I bought two as gifts and my three!) ::dang::

Schrade 194OT in left front pocket, Orveticized TL-29 in right front pocket, and a Schrade 6OT in my left hip pocket. Oh, and a little swiss army knife on my keychain, but since my employer made me remove the evil knife blade I'm not sure it still counts.

Quality should not be an accident. So what is the explanation for some of the knives we've seen in the past few years? (from A Knifebuyer's Manifesto)

Naw, I mean my latest toy:

Orvet started with a TL-29, removed the screwdriver blade and fit the lock to the knife blade, added new stag scales, did some filework on the spring and blade.

Actually, as much as I hate it, it does make sense. I work in a group home with individuals who have a history of violence, including in some cases the use of a knife against others or themselves. It just annoys me not to have a knife (let alone my usual multiples).

(Currently carrying the 194OT, the Orvet custom, and a Western S-901 scout knife I need to remember to sharpen.)

That's one of the best things about retirement. You don't have to make compromises because of your job AND you don't have to kiss any one's a-- for a pay check. Sorry. Wasn't trying to rub it in. :)

Love that Orvet custom.

Here's a picture of my Buck Quest that I carry when I am out and about. I carry a Gerber F.A.S.T. while at home.

Yesterday I watched the sunset with the knife riding in my pocket that day.

I could tell you what it is and show some better pics...or I could see if any of you guys can recognize it first.
