I don't recall Frost, but didn't Jim Parker own Case at one time?

There was a Parker/Frost, but April 1st has passed. Frost does not own Case. I think Zippo owns Case now, and they are both located in Bradford PA.

Thawk you are correct Zippo is the Parent company of Case and ALL of their knives are made in Bradford. As for the corelon handles they are put on (and distributed) by Frost (I Think).But Frost doesn't own Case.

Case was owned by American Brands until December 1988,( don't know what year they bought the company)and was a tax write-off for them the last few years, don't know if Jim Parker owned the company for a few years or not????? but,Parker Knife Collector Service,bought and distributed 99% of the Case Classics,with Smokey Mountain Knife Works,selling the 62046J,63046 and the 6340,which was the last Case Classic pattern to be produced. Zippo Mfg. bought W.R.Case and Sons,in 1993,and still owns the company today,as far as I can find out------someone know more ,I'm sure,---please post,any info--this is all very interesting reading

Ok guys---------here's the scoop for ownership of Case Knife Company
In 1905,Russ Case brought W.R.Case and Sons (the company he and his father William Russel Case, had founded ) to Bradford Pa.
His uncles,Jean,John,and Andrew Case operated Case Brothers Cutlery,in Little Valley,New York,and were involved with their brother W.R.Case,at Cattaraugus Cutlery,before that. Russ Case led W.R. Case and Sons,for nearly 50 years, seeing the company through two world wars and the great depression.
The Case family owned the company until 1972,when it was sold to American Brands----James F.(JIM) Parker bought the company in 1988,then sold it to River Associates (a limited partnership group ) in 1990. In May,1993,W R Case and Sons was purchased by Bradford based Zippo Manufactoring Company,who still owns the company today.

The Case Collectors Club was established in 1981--------Have A Great Day

I went to a flea market last Monday. While I was there walking around looking at knives, I bet there were 15 people that told me that Case is having knives made in China now. After about 3 or 4 times in a row of being told this, I replied, Do you have a China made Case I can hold and look at? No one did. I asked, Have you seen with your own eyes a Case knife that has a China mark on it anywhere? No one had. My final question was, Where did you get this information that Case is having any of their knives made in China? I got answers on this one. The answers were for the most part like this, A friend of mine told me that he heard that Case was doing that, and I know someone that knows someone else that said he has seen the China made Case knives. My last comment was this, When you can bring me a W.R. Case knife that is marked China on it any where, I'll buy a box full of them and finally believe that this trashy rumor is true. Until then, tell your friend and the person that knows another person that has seen a China made Case knife that I said they are complete liars! I believe that some sellers are selling Rough Riders and telling people that Case owns the Rough Rider knives. I think the next time I go back there, I'm going to take a cell phone and W.R. Case's phone number and call Case up so these rumor spreaders can get it straight from the horse's mouth. That's about the only way they will ever shut up telling those rumors.

Now I must admit before debating such matters as international trade or countries of origin with flea market vendors/patrons I take into consideration extenuating circumstances such as how big of a knife or firearm are they toting, how many of them have matching Tshirts or caps, and how far away my car is from the discussion table.

Wosey you crack me up sometimes. I wasn't doing any arguing, just asking for some solid proof that no one could provide. I just got tired of every other person that spoke to me was spreading that rumor. Now I'm not the brightest light bulb in the pack but I know not to go to a flea market that sales guns with only a knife in my pocket, per the old saying of not bringing a knife to a gun fight. Had a Glock 20 in 10 MM for protection. Tis better to talk to 12 than to be carried by 6.

The best one I've found as a sure fire distraction wosey is to ask a political question like what do ya'll think bout the new President, or Congress, etc. A person could drive an Abrams tank by that crowd arguing over that question without notice.

So, how can you tell if a Case is fake? Is it the model configured with the scale material that are off? Is this what you look for? In other words, did Case not ever configure a whittler model with those scales?

Best thing I can tell you with respect to Case is buy and read EVERY book you can get your hands on about Case knives. Handle every knife you can. Get the feel for the real deal and the phony knives will jump out at you when you see them.

WWII Nazi knives being first, Case is probably the second most counterfeited brand out there. There are other brands being faked as well, but it is simple, Case is highly sought after so that is where the fakers are concentrating their efforts.

The knife in question is PURE fantasy aimed at the uninformed buyer that will only see what he or she perceives as a great old tang stamp and a pretty knife.
