Need help with a price

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Need help with a price

Post by RugerDog »

I have a Case XX collectors display knife.
Can anyone please give me a ball park idea on how much these go for?
My ebay name is stxblades. I hope its not selling for less than it should! ::dang::
Please look at it and tell me what you think. Thanks

You might want to add a link to the auction so we can see the knife pics and descrip. Case has so many 'collector' editions
it is a shot in the dark as to which one you are referring to.
If you're unable to paste in a link, at least type in the auction number so viewers can post that into ebay's search feature.

Unless the title, descrip, or pics are way off, usually ebay prices accurately reflect what buyers are willing to pay for any given item at that particular time.
Might be able to call it a 'real time price guide'.
But you won't know til the end what that is since so many bidders wait til the end to bid.

Chris - I'd give my right arm to be ambidexterous.

Wow that's a big folder!   Does that even have a Case pattern number?

Sorry I can't help with the price, but I don't think you should worry. If it's worth more it will go for more, it's in great condition. ::tu:: ::tu::

It should probably sell at that level. But a couple of words of advice: 1) Clean the knives up a little before selling them at auction. It appears to have some tarnish on the bolsters that could be taken off with a little semi-chrome and a couple minutes elbow grease. 2) Very detailed descriptions and exact condition qualifiers will go a long way on eBay. If you don't really know what you have, then you don't need to make stuff up; but if you can investigate a little beforehand it will make a large difference.

Nice knife!

Pull up the auction on your screen.
Put cursor on URL addy and left click to highlight it in blue.
Right click for menu box then left click on copy.

Goto wherever you want to post the link,
right click to show menu and left click paste.
URL addy you copied should appear.

Least a ways that's how I do it, some of these
computer eggspurts may have a shortcut I don't
know about. I'm still in training.

Fine looking knife, if it doesn't draw opening bid amount,
easy enough to relist after the end.
Sometimes a lower opening bid will get the ball rolling,
then bidders take the total above what you had as the
opening bid first time.
How many watchers does your auction have?
That's one good indicator if it's drawing any interested parties.
