Case Germany??
In a group of knives recently purchased I located a Case 8 285, pearl doctor's knife. The tang is stamped W. R. CASE & SONS (over) CUTLERY CO (over) BRADFORD, PA. The back side of the tang is stamped 8 285 (over) SOLINGEN (over) GERMANY.
I can't find anything on it in my books (Levines 4th, Pfiefer, Sargent). Can anybody give me any info on this one? Dates of manufacture? Value?
It came to me in a black presentation box and I'll attach a photo.

Re: Case Germany??
Looks like a tang stamp used in the "Classics" program. It was probably made at the Bulldog factory, I think there is still a Parker connection there.

Re: Case Germany??
I have run into this before. When Parker owned Case he contracted knives to be made in Germany. That would have been in the late 80's early 90's. It's hard to find any value listings for them. Try posting this in the Case forum. You might get some better info.

Great info Alex!
Were they made there at the Bulldog factory? Or just stamped Solingen and assembled there?

Re: Case Germany??
I think you guys have; the right scoop on these knives. I bought some of the Dr's and Fishtail knives at Star Wholesale in Knoxville; in that same time period. Pearl and Gold-stone handles; seem like they were around $45-$60 back then.
