HI THERE ARE 2 EBAY KNIFE EXPERTS THAY HAVE THE ABILITY TO HAVE IT REMOVED IF THAY DEAM IT FAKE .DO YOU THINK THIS IS A good idea. or do you think it should be up to the consumer to determine if it is real or not .based on the given info and pics.im interested in other thought on the matter .i think it should be up to the bider.thank you.

I am an occasional seller on eBay, but like rma, I stay mad at them most of the time. It is my last resort for selling these days. Their recent attempt to get me to open a store there causes even more aggravation.
I am interested in your premise that there are some "experts" there who remove certain knives. Can you tell us more about that. I had no idea they had any sort of "experts" on staff.

i listed a real small foreign brand switch blade about 5 years ago and i am still on their watch list. if i even bid on somebodys elses switch blade they email me saying that knife has been taken off ebay. still they let fakes and newer knives on the pre. 1970 auction.

I don't believe that you can sell or buy "switch Blades" on ebay........definition of switch blade being auto ...only assisted openers are permitted.

I dont buy off ebay but do look sometimes. I have saw a couple of pull balls listed. Are pull balls considered automatic or switchblades?

I actually don't know their policies on knives.....I stick to selling traditional folders and fixed blades...never tried selling an auto or AO on ebay.
But I have seen some sneak by..I guess its all in how ya word it.

I have gotten to where I contact the seller as soon as I find a switchblade, asking them to contact me if the auction gets canceled.
(YES there IS someone out there watching and waiting - I think it's the mother of Hank Jr.'s friend in NYC that lost his life for $43 )
I had a little old lady contact me asking "why would they cancel the auction"? After my explanation - she removed the item on her own and never contacted me again man, it was a SWEET little mint Hammer! Guess I bit myself in the ass on that one! The ones that do make it thru always sell for MUCH, MUCH more than they are worth. You could by two of them on SD for the same price!
I have got some pretty sweet deals in LOT sales, when you spot that little shinny thing on the handle and DON'T ask any questions!

I have to agree that the shipping has gotten way out of hand and Uncle Sam's "$4.95 flat rate" shipping is turning my $5 knives into $10 knives? You could make use of it if you were shipping 10 knives, but not just one little knife I could send from N.C. to Ca. for $1.39!!!! ::blah:: ::blah::

There are some WELL SPOKEN individuals here that capture my attention, and I get so engrossed in there words that I don't realize I'm on the computer and not sitting in the same room as they are.
How can WE get "a man in eBay office" that will stand up for our (and those that will follow in our foot steps) concerns?

and as far as "experts" removing items....I believe its other ebayers "buyers & Sellers" that complain about a particular item that gets it removed.
Some people have nothing better to do with their time but to stir up sh!t.

Johnnie, I think you are right; I had some knives removed with that "Terrible Word" that eBay dosen't like Ivory. When I called them they said; they don't check but someone had reported it. I borrowed some of Charles Turnage's descriptions; he sells tons of the stuff every week and haven't had a problem since; knock on wood. Unless they charge me with plagiarism.
