Victorinox ?

Post by 268bull »

I bought this Victorinox pen knife yesterday for a couple of dollars. My question is, did they make skeleton knives and market them, or is this just simply a knife that has lost it's handles over time. Blades "Guide to Knives and their Values" describes jewelers as having bought small pens, handled them or not, and marketed them from their jewelery stores. I've never come across a skeleton knife before, so really not sure what it may be. Regardless, it is typical of the Victorinox quality. Also, the tang stamp dates it from around the 1952 time period. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you, ::tu:: Bull P.S. Sorry for the bad pic!

My opinion the knife lost its scales. Not an expert on swiss tho.

The plastic handles would have snapped on to those pins I think.

It looks the the pins stick out which would mean that it certainly had the typical plastic scales.

I bet you could have some really cool scales made for it!

Gino/P&T, thanks for the input. I've looked at that knife over, under, sideways, and down, and I do believe your both right. Thank you again! ::tu:: Bull

Ok Junebug, I stand corrected. I made the claim based on info from Blades Guide to Knives & their Value. Went by what the book describes about the tang stamp, but thanks much for pointing that out to me and providing me more info. Bull
