Re: SCHRADES MY TRUE LOVE
Well further proof recently came my way to show me the Lord does watch over children & fools.
(I'm a few light years passed 21 if you're wondering which category I'm in)
Way back in the 80s my ex found a Schrade 708 in her employer's parking lot .
It had already been run over maybe more than once.
Shield scratched up & missing a bolster.
Clip blade barely tipped, pen blade a little hard to open with the bent liner.
But other than those few detriments the knife was MiNT!
Sometime around Jan.'07 I began to notice the 708's absence.
Spent a little time looking for it w/o success.
I bought a 708B replacement but it just didn't feel the same as the busted up orphan.
As different as a brand new pair of Levis vs a pair you have nicely broken in.
Recently I won an older 708 w/the same long pull & Schrade shield as my missing 708.
Even has a slightly tipped clip like the lost one.
Newest one cleaned up well, resharpened and lubed looks like we have a weiner.
Still have some clip blade reshaping to do.
One weird coincidence is that from seller's return address she has same name as the Ex!
First one, now m.i.a.

Re: SCHRADES MY TRUE LOVE
Thank ye fellers,
I didn't notice the red mark on the back liner until I uploaded the pic.
Koduck digimatic has a lot better vision than I do, that's fer sure.
Pic shows all of it, doesn't extend any further.
Anyone know if that red mark has any significance from the factory?
Or just a mark to let them know the end of their roll of brass stock
is fast approaching?
