Old, Horn Handled Victorinox

Anyone out there familar enough with Victorinox to give a little information about a really old one? It is what I call a sailor's knife as it has a sail repair tool, as well as a saw and a clip blade. Handles are horn. I just can't imagine when they might have made anything other than a "Swiss Army Knife".

Maybe this will help. Its from Derek Jacksons book "Swiss Army Knives". It does not have any info on when they sarted making them, but shows that it is included in a 1951 catalog.

In Jackson's book (p. 55), the pattern is shown on an Elsener catalogue page circa 1900. This was before the company became Victorinox and before stainless steel. The closest tang stamp to your's seems from the early 1950s. So it was likely a pattern made over 50 years or more (1890s-1950s) by the various incarnations of the company. s-k
