Here's a couple pic's of a knife i got at an estate sale years ago bought in a group that was in a coffee can most were Imperial's and Colonial's seen this and ended up buying the whole can fer $1.00
Sorry the pic's aren't better doin the best with what i've got. Tang stamp pic's could be better back tang is stamped 196

Nice find Pigsticker, that's actually a horticultural knife, used for deadheading, trimming , etc by folks in the florist and ag businesses (and home gardeners too ) The blade tip originally had a slight hawkbill point. That one was produced sometime between 1947 and 1974.

I can buy that--the blade is quite a bit shorter than body of the knife but it doesn't look like any one ever re-tiped it
i carried it to a few gun shows in the early 90's and showed it to some of the knive dealers i used to trade with and had more than a couple call it a box cutting knife that explains the heading of my post. i've not seen another or found any images of one yet--but still searching

Thanks Hawk didn't see that thread there are quite a few Schrade's that are close to this one but Orvit posted one that is the same but didn't have the lanyard ring--i did notice that alot of them had way more handle than blade.
