At first, the middle horizontal line in the "E" in Case being shorter threw up a red flag which took me to my copy of "Collecting Case Knives" by Steve Pfeiffer (Knifeaholic). The XX Era tang example shown there has all 3 horizontal lines being of equal length. The second red flad came up on the jigging simply because I couldn't put a name to it and while the photos in Steve's book are top-notch, I didn't see what I felt was an exact match (even WITH my glasses on). ::smirk::

Next stop was my own collection. There I found several XX Era knives with the shorter middle line in the "E" although most matched the example in Steve's book. I also found a match on the jigging. I still don't know what to call it, but with at least 3 matches in my collection, the red flag came down.

So, for what it's worth, my non-expert, semi-well researched opinion is that the knife is a nice example if you don't mind the "flea bites" they were kind enough to point out in the ebay pictures.

What it is worth?
With the minor nicks and rust on internal backsprings......I would say hundred bucks, tops.
Still a nice old knife. ::tu::
