How old is my Case Kodiak?

Post by staglover »

I have a case kodiak that looks pretty old. No dots. I have included pictures. Any help would be appreciated.

Since there are no stars on the guard the knife would be pre 1973 but the box appears to have a styrofoam insert for the handle "rest" . If it does have a styrofoam insert , popular opinion is that it must be made just prior to 1973 (possibly 1971-1973) . If the "Hand Made In The U.S.A." stamp is on the tang on the back side instead of up on the blade it would date 1967 - 1973 and the styrofoam insert would make it from the latter part of this period .
