Re: Tank Needs Help!
Just wanted to give you an update. The ride went very well. We had 60 riders and everyone made it safe back home. I want to thank each of you again for prayers, words of encouragement and monetary donations. I can never repay you but if I can ever help you in anyway please don't hesitate to ask. Knowing I can stay home a while longer means everything.
Thank you again,
Tank
Thank you again,
Tank

Re: Tank Needs Help!
Hey Tank,
I just returned from a long hiatus and ran across the post while "catching up".
I can only begin to imagine what you're going through Anthony, and then the state cuts off your benefits. We will keep you in our prayers and help financially when we can.
I have enjoyed your posts over the years and very much like visiting your web site, you are a true "knife guy"................we tend to stick together.....................thick and thin.
God bless you my friend..................><>

Re: Tank Needs Help!
I'm still hanging in there Keith. All of the help and support you guys bestow on me sure helps. I may be getting a few nursing hours back, I hope and pray. It won't solve my whole problem but will give my friends and family a break. It will also allow my health fund to go a bit farther. Right now I am paying out 2800.00 a month for in home help. I draw 1300.00 monthly disability. Without people like you and the other folks here at AAPK I wouldn't be able to do it.

Re: Tank Needs Help!
Hi Tank,
I joined the forum a few days ago. I'm so sorry to hear that your insurance company dropped you. It really should be illegal. I am disabled and retired from work. I too fear that I may some day lose my coverage. I hope you're doing well and I wish you all the best. In Canada and Europe medicine is socialized; everyone has coverage and no one can be dropped from receiving health benefits. It angers me to live in the greatest country in the world and yet the people who need health care the most are victims of big business. If health care were socialized here you and many others wouldn't have to worry about doctor or prescription costs.
You're in my prays,
John

Re: Tank Needs Help! Case XX USA MOP Now auctioned for Tank
I figured maybe Tank would appreciate a few extra bucks in the Christmas stocking so I'm donating this knife to benefit a fellow collector. The winning bidder can just dump the entire purchase price directly into Tanks Paypal account, and with that done be so kind to PM me with the shipping address and the 82079 will be on it's way. Now a little about the knife...
A few months ago I was fortunate enough to happen upon a knife dealer who was contacted by two Brothers to liquidate their Fathers Case collection after he passed away. The gentleman had purchased them new from his local hardware store in the late sixties early seventies. I bought 19 of them all mint Stag including two boxed "Bulldogs" and this knife was the only MOP.
Up for bid today and thru Midnight Tuesday Dec 21st for your consideration is a Near Mint Case XX USA 1965-69 Genuine Mother of Pearl Large (3 1/4" closed) Pen #82079. It has Nickle-Silver Throughout (Bolsters, Pins & Liner) with Stainless Steel Blades. Except for myself this knife has been the property of a single owner who has obviously lovingly preserved his collection. There is no pitting, patina, cracks or dings except for several minor rub marks on the main blade from opening and closing thru the years, I presume.
Let the spirit of the season guide your bids and have a joyful Christmas! Mike
(a very big P.S. to the "Powers-That-Be" I tried to list this knife after registering on AAPK's auction site but when I clicked onto the "Next Step" button I was directed to log-on again, losing a lenghty effort and after two failed attempts and since Christmas is upon us I resorted to posting here. If I made a boo-boo...my bad. Hey...I beg forgiveness...I'm a newbie...what can I say? lol

Re: Tank Needs Help!
BTW...It's funny how a camera lens can react...sometimes in unexpected ways. I just noticed in the top photo above it appears there is a small crack near the middle pin. So I said to myself..."Boy...you're in a heap of trouble"...specially with this crowd (serious knife collectors) So, I grab the knife and head out to the great outdoors to see what I can see. And thank the Lord...no cracks!!
My "rep" (such as it is) is still intact. Here's another photo that has the camera lens cooperating...

Re: Tank Needs Help!
Guys this was so awesome. Thank you for your unselfishness Mike. That was a beautiful knife and I understand how hard it is to let go of such rare beauties. Maybe your charity will open the way for a blessing to come to you. I also want to thank all of you who bid on it to help me out. Congratulations JJ and thank you. You got a beautiful knife there. You guys are the true embodiment of a giving spirit. Each of you have done so much for me this year and I'm truly indebted to our community here. I recently had 20 more hours a week added to my nursin=g. It's not a lot but it offsets my out of pocket costs some. Every little bit helps ya know.
Merry Christmas everyone. May each of you have the gladness of Christmas which is hope; the spirit of Christmas which is peace; the heart of Christmas which is love.

Re: Tank Needs Help!
I read this thread and I just felt like I needed to help. I can't do much but we'll do this.
I am selling a Parker Cutlery Company Buzz Tail Stag Handle knife on eBay. I posted it here yesterday:
http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... 31&t=23644
I contacted Phil for approval. The deal is, whatever this knife sells for I will send that amount to TANK!
Whoever is the highest bidder will get the knife.
Thanks for letting me contribute.
Bid away!
P.S. - I also posted this in my blog:
