Pete..if your referring to my knife. It is stamped with a name...I just can't make it out.
It is a very well built knife with real MOP scales...nothing cheap about this one.

I have never seen the ones that you and Joe are talking about....could one of you post a pic? :D :D

I picked up a nice Standard Knife Co. peanut, and a Case XX 1940-64 Cracked Ice last night on e-bay. the Standard, it's like an imitation onyx, only better looking. When it gets in I'll post some pics of it here. Standard was a Case family spin-off and their knives are virtually the same. This one is nearly identical to the tested era Cases. I messed up last week and let a Clauss peanut go for peanuts. I have since started watching for the older ones.

Ok Mike I'll bite. I think I know where this is going, but I could be wrong. It is a good story that not all of us have heard, tell it.

hey y'all just got back from the fleamarket and picked up some new knives, the first is a 6254ss trapper in cabernet bone and its a 2007 and also got a 61024 1/2 in red bone 40-64 xx era the trapper is new in the box and the 61024 1/2 is used but has great snap for a xx era knife, but it has one thing i found interesting about it the rear bolster/pin area has what looks like a mis stamp right above the bolster on each side like it was misbuilt but it isnt cracked or chipped anywhere.

Pesh,
Nice 24...I think that mark would be where the pin "spinner" slipped off the pin and left a mark.

that is very possible, i looked real close at the marks and they are very smooth so after some hard thinkin on my part i figure as ramrod suggested that the spinner slipped during production. i have that same problem sometimes. lol ::tu::
