I carry a Hen & rooster whittler and I beat the heck out of it but that German solingen steel holds up awesome. I keep it clean but I use it.

hey y'all just picked up a schrade commerative/schrade scrimshaw stockman mint no box but unsharpened and uncarried. it is marked schrade usa sc505 on the tang of the main blade and 1894-1994 purina feeds with a string of silhouete animals on the reverse. here are a few pics.

Looks like a really fine piece Greg! Nice old bone scales and if the pile side is as good as the mark side, you got a real fine knife waitin for ya under the tree! Even got a little bail on it too A winner all the way!

Went to the local gun show this past weekend and found this Western Trapper. Knife showed a lot of character, blades have a lot of wear but still a very usable knife. My first trapper and the price ( $3.00 ) was great. Brought it home, put a little elbow grease behind it, and I like it. A lot! Bull

Pesh: Thanks for the positive comments about my Western Trapper. Right back at you and your Schrade ( Purina Chow ). Fine lookin' knife! My Western has excellent blade snap. No wobble, took a nice edge. Bull

I have no idea...I've not been at this very long, but that's the first Imperial I've seen with what looks to be a wharncliffe-ish main blade. All my other Imp's have a spear point main....what's your thoughts?

I've always seen the spear blade also...but it doesn't look to have been tampered with.(That I can tell from the pic).
Wish I could say for sure but I'm not that experienced with Imperials.
Either way..its a cool old knife.

I bought two easy open Imperials last week, one is pictured above and the other is almost identical only with a spear point main blade....it showed up today in the mail and I a happy camper! Bone scales just about as good a fit and condition you can get, and both blades snap like a trap, plus not much wear on either one. It does appear the blades had some crud on them and someone wire wheeled or sanded on them which left a dull flat finish....so I say to myself "self....after you clean and degrease that bad boy, why don't you try a dab or two of gun blue paste on that blade and see how that looks"...so I did and wow! I like it! I did both blades and now have them oiled up and resting, hopefully I load a picture in the next day or so...

What you have there is a U.S Navy General Utility Knife, WW II era.

The blade is worn down or has been reshaped, it should be a spear point blade.

These knives are well made and have very nice jigged bone on them.
