SCHRADE LAKE & WALKER knives.

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Hi... I have a mint SLW2 that I really like. I bought one in 2003 but gave it to my son so I got another. Great carry knives in my opinion. I've never had or seen one of the SLW1's. I think they may be hard to find. Hope you are able to get one! TDcase....

Hi, TDcase,
I have all of the Lake & Walker knives - once in a wile I have seen the SLW2 come up for sale, with the part serrated blade.
It has been a long time since I have seen a SLW2 for sale with the full plain blabe.
Dose your SLW2 have the full plain blade or the serrated blade ? did it come in a box or tin?
Some-one told me the SLW2 was selling for $20 after Schrade closed down.
The SLW1 was only made with the full plain blade.
Here is some of my collection...Ken

Dang ::tu:: You got a few buddy  Both of mine are with serrated blade and they came in boxes. The last one I won off of ebay but it was NIB. I think the first one I bought was around $50 and the one I just got was $18.99 which I thought was great for a NIB SLW2. You have a nice collection there koldgold .... later bud.... TDcase
