SCHRADE-WALDEN

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

The name's familiar but I can't say that I ever listened to him until I did a search. An olde tyme mountain balladeer.

By the way, Welcome to AAPK. Someone will be along shortly to evaluate your knife

I though everyone had heard of Jimmie Rodgers at sometime or another. There were many Country singers that carried his style into their own like Merle Haggard and Hank Williams Sr. That's the problem with these so called new Country singers, they have no style. They all seem to have the same tune with just different words. You can't tell one from the other now days. When Merle, George Jones, Waylon and those good old Country singers came on the radio, you didn't have to guess at who it was. You knew after the first word, sometimes with just the first couple of licks on the bass in Waylon's case.

Welcome to AAPK Naphtali. ::tu::

The 881Y is not real rare and it has been used quite a bit I see.
If they are in mint condition with box or tube & papers, you might see one go as high as $75 on a good day (retail).
Most likely for one like yours about $25-$30.

Nice knife.
I have one my dad gave me that has advertising on it.
