I would like to see a sticky with the recommended reading list for knife repair and restoration and information about the few special tools that are required for folding knife work.
I know that Tom Williams would be a great source for the tool information, and MM and Agteacher could give us the lowdown on books, videos, and any websites that they use frequently. (I'm not intentionally trying to leave anyone out)
What do you think should be a permanent post in this area?

Good idea! There are a lot of how to books and some really good DVD's on the market now. Some of them will save a lot of time, because they get you started out right. I especially like some DVD's that I regard as be better at the how to. I know some of these can be rented from smartflix.com, thanks for that one Colin (Realmontanan).

I agree, a sticky with resources would be great. I don't know of many books or videos that thuroughly show the repair process. "The complete guide to pocket knife repair" By Ben Kelly is a very informative book and covers alot of bases of restoration, but there are a few important points that he overlooks. Then of course, there is the whole new game of embellishment over restoration. I am mostly self taught with some pointers and inspiration from other forums and a local embellisher.
