Show Us Your Camillus Knives!

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Interesting handles on both of those Trav. ::tu::
I haven't seen those bottom ones before, and the top ones are not real common from what I have seen.

Thanks Dale
Is it that it has a single backspring and a spear and clip blade that makes it a moose rather than just a jack?
Its not always clear to me
Here is a Cracked ice #43 with the $2.00 ink price on back also from same vendor
Makes the muskrat a deal at $2.35
Also here is a 4-line Sword Brand stock knife with punch 3-5/8"
I dont think it was used much ,a couple scratches

Here are a couple of pearl handled Camillus
The first one is a 2-7/8" half congress ,both blades stamped with the three line arch stamp
The second one is a 3-1/4" pen knife with the Sword Brand and 4 line stamps
the third knife is a 3-1/4"pen with the 4 line stamp
You can see the upgrades in the Sword Brand with the ringed bolsters

Just finished cleaning up this WWII-vintage Camillus Army Engineers pocket knife.

Image

It's a very solid knife and should make a great user.

Is there any difference between the scout knives from that aera and the military knives besides that the shields of the latter were stamped USA?

That's a good question Paul. To be honest, I don't know anything about the subject. Maybe some of our other members can chime in.

i don't have a scout knife from the 1919-1941 period, mine is from the '50's, but i think the only difference in the 1919-1941 scout and military knives was the sheild.

I do have one with the 4 line stamping, so it should be from somewere in the 40-s, all steel construction with bone handles and the same shield as in the picture, it indeed is built like a tank, only remark could be, that the bail is made from steel, if made from brass or nickel-silver it would be somewhat friendlier to the edge if on accident the blade is closed on the bail.

Here is a new (to me) Camillus courtesy of Welder Bob.
The only 5-line Camillus tang stamp I have seen.
Obviously before WW II.

Thanks Bob!!
