Thanks, tc3500. I hope you'll post a pic of your tiny toothpick collection once you get 'em all in that display case. I'm sure it'll look awesome!

Paul, that Valley Forge is SWEET!! I love that blade combo. The handles are awesome and the shield is perfect for the knife. great find.

Aside from large knives wearing stag this is my favorite sort of knife. A hand forged Ibberson that is nearly mint aside from some spiders. The scales are Ivory and it advertises: C. Clode &Sons. Ltd, Shipping Butchers, Cardiff. There is the number 92 stamped on the liner. Pile side of the main blade is stamped Made in England Sheffield in a circular pattern and the pile side of the small blade is stamped Hand Forged.

I don't know what the name for this pattern over here is but most companies seem to have been making it. The advertisements I have just call it a pocket knife.

Here is today's great find. Unfortunately these were at the second boot sale of the day and the guy had already sold some as singles. The box on the right is a full box of twelve and the other box with the damaged top has five. Aside from the open one in the picture they are all in the original plastic wrapper (covered in oil) inside the little cardboard boxes. The tangs are stamped H. Fisher, Sheffield and they are all advertising the same company. (I'm assuming this part since I don't want to open any more since the cardboard is brittle.)

Iorn Hoarder: You used the term "pile side". I am not familiar with this. Would you explain please. Thanks.

Each side of a knife has a name ....side with the shield and usually the tang stamp is called the mark side ...the opposite side is called the pile side. :)

Iron Hoarder....do you plan on keeping all those?.........Hint,Hint.. :D
