Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I picked up these two this morning at an estate sale. The top picture is a Case, Slim Trapper, Pattern # 61048SSP. It's a 10 dot and the blade has etched, " Tested XX Razor Edge ". Case isn't my first choice of knives but this one has a lot of blade left and has good snap upon opening and closing. The second pictured knife is an Ulster, TL-29 Signal Corp. The knife is in excellent condition for it's age. Somebody had the idea of sharpening it and applied it to a grinding wheel, then quickly thought they had better not. The main blade looks to be full. Great snap to the blades. It has been a great start to the weekend.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Thanks Gino! There must have been at least 50 knives throughout the display cabinets. Most of them had a blade broken, weak springs, tips of blades missing. I just went through them all till I found something decent. I had it narrowed down to 4, then chose these 2. I have a feeling come tomorrow there's going to be a lot of knives left and tomorrow he'll make deals. In my opinion , he's asking to much for problem knives. I like to tinker and I could reprofile those with broken tips. We'll see

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I went back on Saturday and did a little price negotiation on these two. I only wanted to buy the Schrade, but to get the price i was asking the estate sale manager said I would have to buy them both. So that's what I did! The Schrade on the left is a 123OT. The Case on the right is XX SS #2137 Sodbuster Jr.. I'm very happy with both knives and a total of four this weekend. I have a couple of Antique & Collectibles shows coming up , so I hope they'll bring me my cost plus, back to me. Looks like you did well Gino!

Thank Tom and Gino. You'd be amazed at the stuff I can find at the local flea market TJ. I posted some of the printed stuff I bought today on the miscellaneous thread in General Off Topic forum.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Thanks Paul! The knife finds will probably drop off for a short while. Seems to run in peaks and valleys. There have been some great estate sales here in the Eugene area the past couple of weeks. The rumour mill though says the sales will be few for a while. But i've got antique fairs coming up soon so that will keep me busy.

I do not have many Buck knives, however I do like the 301.
I have some 301 knives made by Schrade.
(note the Buck has only one pin in the handle - the Schrade has three pins) ...Ken
