Schrade in Australia - 1997 - 8OT for US$150.

Schrade's "Old Timer knives" where sold in Australia for many years, long befor eBay.
I have posted part of a pre. 1997 price lists.
When looking at the price, please remember - US$1.00 = A$ 0.65 at the time.

It's bittersweet to see the reminders of when American cutlery was the choice all around the world. I bet a lot of those Schrades are still riding in the pockets of working men in Australia and many other places too.

I can remember those 65c to the $days. All the horse gear we'd buy that was USA made you'd
pay thru the nose for.
That was the reason only a few real Schrade fans bought their knives, most bought
Dixon/Rodgers/Toledo/Pampa etc.
I bought my first one about 1974, It cost an arm and a leg, well it seemed like it.
But most of those same knives are still around today, albeit a mite worn out.
I personally don't think we'll ever see the same quality in anything we buy today.

She's a throwaway society today.

There is a lot of those Schrades still riding in the pockets of working men in Australia.
My son has always carried an 8OT, in the outback they all have a “vertical knife pouch” that is part of their belt.
As for “New Old Stock”, I have found quit a large amount of Schrade items in Australia.
I found 6 new "WALDEN 881 and 880" knives, only last month.
I was given a Schrade “IQ180” and a “ST1N”, when I told a friend I collected Schrade knives.
I still use the same old "Walden 881" - I have had and use almost every day, for almost 40 years...

That ST1N is one of the best multi tools I have used.
The design is far superior to the original Leatherman IMO.
